... I'm sure I'll recount many when you all remind me, but I thought I'd buy the cheaper version of 'toilet bloo' this week and kitchen roll, what a bad idea - bread, tampons are others I 'will' pay more for.

Beans,floor cleaner and deoderant.
I forgot toilet roll and toilet wipes, foil and cling film
GMA I also bought those cheapo blue loo thingys this week and now my toilet is stained blue
I won't buy loo roll, butter, mayo, teabags, Shampoo or bleach that aren't the real deal.

This will sound bad but food is the last thing I economise on. I buy less ready meals but that's about it. I'm too much of a glutton to compromise on grub. I do a lot of bulk buying which saves money (though Mrs. Bleads can't actually pick the mayonaise tub up unaided).
Kitchen roll/toilet paper I agree isn't worth it, it doesn't last.

Yup, me too -beans have too much 'sauce' if you can call it that and most floor cleners are rubbish - I love 'Zoflora' too btw, there's only one of them and yes, deodorant, soft & gentle or sure for me.

I agree with the deodorant

Crikey, pay the extra for bog roll unless you want to risk a terrible finger up bum related domestic incident.
I can only think of one 'budget' brand I buy regularly because I prefer it. Sainsbury's Basics corned beef is lovely - much nicer than M & S's imo. I occasionally try cheaper stuff, but always Andrex loo roll, Kleenex tissues and Bounty/Plenty kitchen roll.

I agree teddy, I'd rather have quality food than ready meals - although hubby will pick up some for himself if I'm not with him! We usually buy in Makro - like 5 kilos tomatoes - that'll suffice me for 10 days!

Fig rolls. It has to be Jacobs or Bollands. Perish the thought of an economy, corner-cutting figgy commestible!

Apparently, any 'pink' toilet 'tissue' is bad for women as the dye causes thrush in some - always go for white.
