I thought about having it but was put off for a couple of reasons. My friend had it done and she said it was really painful and it also didn't really work as she still has to wear glasses for reading, driving etc. So she paid out for the surgery and she also still has the cost of her specs to cover too. Also, my optician said that it's quite common for people who wear glasses from a younger age that their eyesight will start to improve as they get older, whereas people who have never had to wear specs will find their eyesight declines as they get older. I know one of my tutors at uni suddenly stopped wearing his specs when he was 45 because his eyesight had sort of rectified itself.
