Pride tupps...though I suspect if i lost my job I wouldn't get much help...wouldn't know where to start...

I have savings.. and I haven't popped kids out like there is no tomorrow.. I'd get bugger all..

Same here....I'd get bugger all either..Shake Head

it's wrong Dev.. fundamentally wrong..

I advocate pure communism.. there are jobs to do within society.. provided you are able, if you don't do them, you don't eat...

That's the way I see things too tupps, I was taught that if you don't work, you don't have...simple as....

I wanted to go to college (in my own time), can't afford the fees and get no help...

That bloke with the bad back (my arse!) looks like a weasle - how ironic!!!

This is what pee's me off is that they all sit there smoking...

A - How do they afford it?
B - What will happen when they become ill with smoking related illnesses? They'll expect the NHS to help them, that's what will happen! Which of course the NHS will!

Thumbs Up Exactly ;nod: Why do they waste their time & our money on folks who clearly can't be arsed? Why not concentrate on the people who DO want to work...

The advisors at the Job Centre must get so frustrated...

I'm surprised they didn't keep him on the sick list rather than put him on the unemployment list....it looks better for the statistics this Government are so big on!

Absolutely nothing wrong with him Shake Head And there's people who are really in need of benefits that don't get them...what a shocking state of affairs...

That's what really winds me up too.

I'm not paying tax into a social fund which also provides a safety net in case I'm out of work for a few months, I'm paying large sums to maintain another social class.

No of course about it. Not all smokers get treated by the NHS.

Indeed! It's in the wind. In our life-time they will begin to treat only the well and healthy people.
Not all bad news though, they won't need as many nurses and Doctors and this will release extra money to pay for more management consultants, auditors, trainers, and HR types.

When I saw the ads I must admit I thought 'Faker' but after seeing the whole thing I thought he had a point. He had obviously genuinely hurt his back badly (unless the whole accident and pills were part of an elaborate scam), but there is plenty he could do even with a bad back. Work does'nt begin and end with manual labour.

MM, I am watching this and I shouldn't...it makes my blood boil...3 bliddy years ago he did his back in, have people no pride anymore....

Thing is there is genuine people out there and there's folk like this 'man' who get everything for nothing. My mum is 66 and is a full time carer for my Aunt who has had 3 strokes and can't get into the shower, mum applied for a grant to get a walk in shower and they've refused point blank, says she can manage when people help her, people being my OAP Mother. Make me so mad...

Maz = I think your NHS will give you the names of Occupational Therapists, etc who will will fit appliances to help your Aunt - and Social Services should be told she isnt getting the help she is entitled to sweetheart - so give them a phone or visit them - a heck of a lot is being done now to help older folks, problem is , they wont ask for help you see,but she is very much due this assistance - not help tell her Hug Winkxx

i'm prone to a back back but i found it was steadily getting better when i was working in the kennels (which is quite physical). it was bloody murder for a few weeks till my back got used to it though lol!

i didn't watch the programme so dont know what kind of back problem he had. but there are types of jobs you can do without using your back at all
