Oddly enough I can remember in great detail things that happened in my early childhood, but don't ask me to say what I had for dinner last night.

I remember all of those too.
My Dad used to call Dana' effort "The Backdoor key song!" He would sing it using everyday trivial objects as lyrics. Backdoor keys and welcome mats, a cigarette lighter from a Ford Corsair.
Probably where I get it from.
