I don't have to endure Christenings very often due to most of my friends being fellow satan worshippers and despite my best efforts to get out of the event, it looks like I'm gonna have to attend one on Sunday.

Now I have no idea what to buy.

It's for a baby girl and her daddy is SERIOUSLY loaded so she won't want for much.

Clothes are a bit dull and I never did see the point of traditional silver trinkets.

So I wanna get something a little different.

Budget - no more than 50 of your earth poonds cos I have important stuff like wine & ciggies to spend my hard earned on.

There's those wee trinkety box thingys (christ I'm having a brain fart today) you get them in silver and store things like babys first curl/birth certificate/first tooth and all that jazz.....

...or there are some lovely frames where you have babys pictures at birth, one month, 2 months, right up til their first birthday and it's lovely to see their progress.

I was going to say a (biggish) trinket box for special childhood memorabilia too. Maybe a leather photo album?

Or a bottle of good wine to open on her 18th.

Now this is the kinda thing I had in mind - only problem being, her name's Poppy (same as my daughter) so it could get a little confusing Big Grin

Thanks for the other suggestions, but this is rather a large do, and I suspect she'll have all the traditional Christening presents she'll ever need Smiler

Crock Rock, I did think about a star or a moon plot Nod Didn't think of forging the paperwork myself though Ninja

That does sound lovely. I was thinking more of a little 'treasure chest' to store the stuff that Mums always end up putting in shoe boxes! (first drawings, etc....I even saved the foil from his first Easter egg. Just wish I'd had a nicer container).

I always go for something from The Royal Mint.

Usually a set of coins for the year the child was born....

90% of Christening gifts end up as dust collectors.
This is a nice idea, especially if they come in a presentation box.

The rose is a lovely one as well.

Or you could make up a box of the news paper on the day she was born, number one song that week etc. and pictures of her family..... weak i know but it's Monday fgs! Big Grin
