OT - Techie Help Needed re Vids Please

Hi

I am having a few probs lately. My internet keeps flashing up page can not be displayed every so often and when I try to watch vids it shows about 20 seconds and then just pauses as it its buffering but doesn't move on at all.

I cant watch the vids from last night, aaargh!

Any ideas? Thanks

Could be content throttling. Some of the cheap and nasty ISP's do that at the weekends. Eg. Tiscali.

Thanks for reply, I am with virgin, it was doing it a bit on Thursday.

OH swapped modems earlier on in the week but its been fine for a few days. Going to go back to the old one.

I sometimes have similar probs with vids in that they don't run through smoothly. I've learnt that if I leave it to get to the end - slow process sometimes so I do something else till it does that. But after that it usually plays all the way through without probs

Its not moving on at all

Its got a little circle of circles in the middle that looks as if its doing something but its not

We have had tiscali for about 3 years or so, my son pays for it.
It was always excellent but a while back we began having the same sort of problems with it.
I was told by a friend that Tiscali had been taken over by talk talk.
If so that would explain a lot
