My daughter and her O/H were diagnosed with Swine Flu on Wednesday. He has had fairly mild syptoms - sore throat bit of a cough and a temp for 24 hours. My daughter is so poorly, raging temp every muscle in her body aching, vomiting, headache and now has a secondary chest infection and is on anti biotics. No doctors visit and she hasn't been given Tamiflu, although she did have the ordinary flu vac last year. I live at the other end of the country and I know that even if I was closer, I couldn't visit her. Really concerned. Anyone who says this virus is mild, all I can say is that there are some people who are being hit really hard
i hope she is ok miss lippy, i have had the flu about 3 times in 25 years and when i get it i get it really bad...the whole process takes about 4 weeks from start to finish and during the second week i feel like i have been hit by a train, with all the swine flu problems at the moment i think a lot of people have forgotten how bad ordinary flu can be...my local health centre sent me a letter to get a flu jab as i was considered 'at risk' but every time i ring up they dont have any.......
Oh Rekaf, do make sure you get you flu vaccination this year. If your GP doesn't have any vaccine, I am sure you can buy it from boots (about £15.00) and get a nurse to give it to you. This year we will have the standard flu
about and swine flu, so you can get a double dose and that is the last thing anyone wants. Presumably you will be on the list of people give the swine flu vac when it is released in 2 weeks or so.
Just had a call from daughter's OH to say she will be admitted to hospital tomorrow if her chest infection has not improved. She is a normal, healthy 25 year old, I am so worried.
