Nick Griffin had been invited to a garden party today at Buckingham Palace. This is because he is a MEP so Buckingham Palace had little choice in inviting him.
It will never be known as to how he would have been regarded at Buckingham Palace and how the other 8000 guests would have reacted as at rather short notice the Palace banned him.
At least that will save the Palace the cost of fumigating the place afterwards.
Griffin's wife and another guest who is also a BNP MEP won't be turned away, though they may decide not to turn up now.

Before the ban was imposed Mr Griffin, an MEP for North West England, described the invitation on the BNP website as a "highly symbolic breakthrough" for the party and appeared on GMTV to talk about it.
However, in a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "Nick Griffin MEP will be denied entry to today's garden party at Buckingham Palace due to the fact he has overtly used his personal invitation for party political purpose through the media. This in turn has increased the security threat and the potential discomfort to the many other guests also attending.
