yeah I would consider learnin to play an instrument, I could always give it a go. Being a student money is tight so as you say experience would be the best way!

Yes, do as my son did - learn from your mates and perhaps you could swap skills and give singing hints/lessons - go for it honest, good luck - keep us informed too.
hehe I will do, thanks

Good, be positive and 'go for it' belive me I never believed you learn experience/age but you do - just get out there and take a chance - good luck hunny.
I heard it at last. I liked your voice on the chorus especially..nice vibrato. A wee bit more control/structure with the light and shade (strong/soft)in your singing would be what I would advise. Nice voice PP. The potential is all there. Good luck!
You`re a bonnie laddie too.

Hi PP. I liked the latter half, but found the first half too whispery, as you said.
I wish I could sing, at least you have got the voice to be able to.
As others said, you could learn the guitar which would probably help if you want to write your own songs (always good), but it isn't strictly necessary. Just helpful to you.
I'm looking forward to hearing any more songs that you put up. And give that talent show another go! You might be lucky next time!

Keep trying cheerio, there's a good boy *pat pat*
thanks people
yeah I know what you mean about the first half definitley. I know that's what I need to do but whenever I sing I think I like to put as much emotion in as possible but I end up going too far and it sounds too forced. Next time I'm going to just try and reign it in a little.

Interesting interpretation PP, it sounded a bit stuttery at first but it picked up.
Good on you, having the guts to do it and post.
Good luck with it all hun

I admire the balls to put it on Youtube.
You have picked a very hard song to test, its a song where the guitar follows the voice and plays a subtle back rhythm and not the other way round as you clip has shown, thats not a dig its an observation.
Are you playing the guitar as you sing it?, if you are then try it with the song being played as a backing track and then sing it, you can concentrate more on your voice technique as opposed to single note and cord playing.
Find a song that maybe is more in line with your vocal connection and range as to be fair this doesnt work for me, you are straining to push the song forward.
Pink Plastic, these are just my thoughts mate and i know this is your first attempt as you said, dont give up, maybe just try a different track to play and let us hear it

Bovril, I don't play the guitar my friend played it for me. I agree it's not the kind of song I normally sing, but I fancied giving something a bit different ago. I normally sing musical theatre to be honest and if I do pop it's stuff which is a lot louder and has very few quiet bits like this song has.
Next song I'll do something where I can show off my upper register and my power a bit more!

Aye nowt wrong with giving it a go lad, you obviously have a voice that can sing and i would like to hear it again done to something different.
I love the musicals, what songs do you like to sing to from the musicals
I thought it was ropey.

normally do something from Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis and things like that. I only have one other video of me singing and it was in our leaver's assembley last year. Me and my friend sang For Good from Wicked. It's not exactly what I would call a song that suited me, but the words fitted the occasion.

I am a tenor though so the stuff I normally sing is stuff like This is The Moment, Music of the Night. Stuff where I can get a bit of power in my voice, which none of these songs really show.
I really didn't like the beginning but halfway through it was a lot better.
yeah I do think that I nee t work on my quiet parts, as the loud bits I find a lot easier.
good singing but couldn't hear it very easily over the guitar...had to concentrate too hard to hear you
one to watch though
one to watch though
thanks darth as I say, I'm not too keen on that performance as it is too quiet and whispery but next time I'll try and get something which suits my voice more and I can kind of just lose myself in the song and show off my voice the way I feel it's best, with singing more powerfully. I might try Red by Daniel Merriweather.
you've got me singing now though
haha, is that good? :P
ive tried so many times, to cut the space out, but no luck, good luck anyway
if you go back to the main page there's no space anymore
you have a beautiful voice...could I hear a hint of nerves there though?
I heard better but also heard much worse, keep at it, you need a better guitar player though ( sorry if its you playing) I do like your voice though
I think it was just trying to make it a bit quirky to be honest bagel, but in some places it didn't come out right
thank you though
thank you though

I think you have a good voice PP. I did prefer the chorus to the beginning and would love to hear you sing a more powerful song. Well done, hun.

Nice voice and at least you can sing in tune, which alot of todays artists can't. Lots of luck for the future.

well I am sure you will soon have fans queueing for your autograph including me but in a maternal way...I am old enough to be your mother and a bit more maybe grandmother even oooooer
hahaa.. that's the dream lol
I've listened to it twice..
Girrrrrrl you have a nice voice.. nothing wrong with your pipes.. but if I were to say one thing it would be about your interpretation. It sounds a little stage schooly.. like you're trying just a little too hard and you are a bit self conscious and desperate to 'get the part'. Listen to Snow Patrol's version again.. what works is it is very understated. Maybe also listen to Coldplay's 'Yellow'.. this is before Chris Martin got a little 'wanky'.. the simplicity of it. You get that down and imho you've cracked it.
