As some of you will know I almost made it onto a major talent show this year but was knocked out just before the televised rounds.

I said I was going into a studio to record some tracks. I haven’t got round to that yet but I did use my friend’s home recording studio to do a very rough practice of some songs. As promised, I am going to share the work I did, but just to warn you, it’s off in some parts as I literally did just one take and had never sung the song before so kind of just started playing around with it!

But here you go, all feedback welcome Smiler

After you've watched, please leave any comment on here!

EDIT: I have a very rough version of Man in the Mirror that we also did in this quick recording. We managed to get a full version of Chasing Cars in but I fluffed up this song and didn’t have time to re-record on that day so this is all I have to show for this song. It cuts off half way through and the guitar is out of time to the music as again I was just trying something new and seeing where it went. I am going to work on this particular song though and do a full version of it but for now this is all I have. Again any comments would be appreciated!

You've got a way better voice than I could hope to have....I'm not trying to diss you. Smiler

he has got a good voice.

yeah that's fine mofo, thanks for the comment Smiler I know what you mean, I think cos it was my first go I put a lot of kind of quirks and stuff in (some of which were natural though). After listening to it if I were to do it again there’s a lot I would change, i.e. taking out some of the whispery bits etc. And kind of just singing it! Thanks for the feedback though Smiler

Yeah, it’s a broken link sorry. I’m just so used to doing that from C4 forums lol

yeah my parents say the same. They hate it when I put trilly bits in. They prefer it went I just purely sing.

thanks Smiler no, it was my friend playing the guitar. I think that's what's gonna hold me back cuz I can't play an instrument Frowner I would love to write songs aswell and come up with ideas but it's hard when you have the ideas but not the musical knowledge to write the notes down on paper and play on an instrument etc.

You could learn, it's never too late as they say - my youngest son never had music lesson (he preferred sport) and my eldest son had lessons in piano/keyboard/organ and the youngest one now plays in a band and the eldest who had lessons only plays CDs and works as a computer programmer!

My youngest son is almost self taught and learned from friends - give it a go plastik! Thumbs Up I'd love to be able to sing and play a guitar/violin or piano. You have youth on your side - I've got a load of DIY to sort out at the age of 51! Roll Eyes (we're doing the house up - my field is English/Feminisms, so I'm of no help to you, sorry) all I can say is you're nearly there - get some guitar lessons if you can. Thumbs Up
