Anne Hathaway’s nipples are this year’s Oscars red carpet talker.

The actress’s best supporting actress win for Les Miserables Sunday night has  nearly been overshadowed by the chatter about her pink Prada dress and its  unfortunate bustline darts that emphasized Hathaway’s nipples.

“Anne Hathaway's stylist should be fired for not forcing her to wear pasties!  HELLO NIPPLES!!!” tweeted gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Tweets from others  followed, identified by the hashtag #LesNipperables.

Just like Angelina’s Right Leg at last year’s Academy Awards, a Twitter  account for Hathaway was started almost as soon as the actress appeared on the  red carpet. As of Monday morning, @HathawayNipple had  4,000-plus followers.

Was it really so bad? You decide. Click  here to see photos of Les Nipperables: Anne Hathaway’s wardrobe  malfunction.

I really need to see this performance on the TV as opposed to my computer because for me the performance lacked some emotion. I felt at times Adele had dead eyes too. If someone were to tell me she was under the weather I would believe it.

When I first heard the Skyfall single on release I did not care for it, but over time it has grown on me (I still hold the songs by Bassey, Jones and Sinatra as the best Bond themes).

The 30 second clip of Bassey needs to be the whole performance - again I need to track down.

Edit: I am pleased she picked up an Oscar as I am a Bond fan and any award is welcome.

I heard that she was incredibly nervous about this performance (not surprising) - she had been learning a new breathing technique to help calm her. I agree it lacked gusto but still great none the less maybe because it looked effortless.

I think nerves could well have played a part in the way it came across and possibly new breathing technique (which I was unaware of - but possibly ill advised for a big event such as this). Thanks for the info Soozy.

I'll be honest, I think an effortless performance can still have passion, verve and theatrical expression which drives the song forward. This performance if people are honest was not great.

When you contrast it with Shirley Bassey the two are poles apart. Shirley knows how to put in a performance. I'm sure I've seen Adele perform some of her other songs a lot more expressiveness.

I've stil not had the opportunity to view on TV Soozy. I always thought that when you started to earn the money Adele does, she could afford to have dresses and clothes in general made out of "knitted fog".

Why can't more actors & actresses(the crap ones especially) be more like the ever so wonderful Daniel Day Lewis?..The guy makes on average one film every five years, and when he does, he blows everyone out of water!..He is a great actor, and his 3rd Oscar is well deserved! Well done Daniel for doing us Brits proud on so many levels..

I think it's more to do with being in the public eye, making money and being a "star" than producing quality pieces of work. Despite the clamour of most actors and actresses to be stars, it's people like DDL who will be remembered.
