I think binning is better, to be on the safe side. Makes you wonder how people survived before refridgeration. To think that curries were partly invented to disguise the taste of rotten meat
I watched Finding Nemo last night - it was good
Well the titles does say "Opinions please"
. . . and i don't like coffee cake
i would have binned it, i operate on my 3 day rule, if it's been opened and in the fridge for 3 days then it gets binned, the very thought of eating food that may be manky would put me off wanting to eat it anyways.
3 days? you eat things that have been open for 3 days?
I have milk open in the fridge for over a week I did throw away some eggs that were a month past their use by date at the weekend though Dithered a bit mind you cos I really fancied poached eggs
Do the floatation teat for eggs.
If they float get rid...no matter the date.
The lower they are in the water the more OK they are.
I suppose Lal has been shopping, for food and possibly a new fridge.
I know peeps were saying 'Bin The Lot', but I don't think they meant the fridge as well - it wasn't its fault it couldn't keep the stuff at the recommended temperature with the door open.
LOL....no I didn't bin the fridge it's working fine with the door closed!!!..
Renton Saint I too love Finding Nemo.....I also hate coffee cake and coffee chocolates.. I love drinking it though
You need a fridge that sends out a piercing clarion call when the door is left open for more that 30 seconds. There are so many little people in my house going in my fridge all day that I frequently get alerted to the door being wide open. I'd be chucking stuff all the time if I didn't have an alarm.
The freezer has one. drives me mad when I am rummaging, but i always thought it would be better on the fridge...my dishwasher has one too, my Ipad and phone are forever beeping out alerts... in fact there are so many beeps and alarms in my house I might end up like this ...

Ahhhha but do you like cherries?
I'd have kept it... we've had power cuts for longer & nothing was evicted from the fridge or the freezer when the power came back on
I have done the food handlers cert & all that jazz... (former careers in the pub trade & in the world of vending machines ) so I knew all the hype about cooked rice... you don't reheat it, you certainly don't let it sit around at a nice room temperature for a couple of days & then gently warm it through...
so was a bit of a shock when I first met MrD & his family.. they laugh in the face of all that... most of my BIL's and my FIL tend to have cooked rice sitting in the rice cooker on the worktop for days (dipping into it when needed). MrD is a bugger for hogging fridge space with a saucepan of cooked rice...
Its never made them ill... ever!
mind you... I've never been ill from eating takeaway leftovers, cold, from the containers, on the side, the morning after the night before!
mmmmmmmm cold chinese
Ugh Ditty not cold chinese but hot chinese leftovers are often much better than the original meal. And yes, I heat up rice too but never more than 24 hours later.
