My niece ia pregnant (two weeks before her due date) she went for a scan yesterday and the baby is a very awkward breech - they tried to manipulate the baby and failed - she was subsequently booked for a C section on Monday. Tonight she has gone into labour - they have simply admitted her and sent her husband home and told him not to worry!!!!!!!!!!!

My sister (nieeces mum) rang me and asked what she should do. I told her - get a taxi to the hospital and kick arse - IMO - she shold be prepped for a C section before the labour goes too far ...............the baby is lying bum down with legs curled up - if it goes to a normal delivery it could be dangerous and a bit of a nightmare.

What would you do? I'm waiting to hear from my sister!!!!!!

Well I just hope my sister is at the hospital right now SHOUTING AND SCREAMING. If they felt it necessary to book her in for a C section on Monday because a natural birth was too dangerous - why are they letting the labour progress? It worries me that the info doesn't get passed on - I'll give it 15 mins before I ring my sis if she doesn't ring me first.

If they decided yesterday it wasn't desirable to go through natural child birth and that a C section was the best plan of action WHAT'S MADE IT DIFFERENT TODAY?

There's nothing I can say to make you stop worrying...... I think that's a natural reaction.... but if they have sent him home she can't be very far into labour at this stage.
I hope your sis can get you some more information

Could the baby not have turned round of it's own accord?

Nope - no ones even checked that - the examination yesterday concluded that the baby was unlikely to turn as the bum was wedged well and truly down.

Awww they don't like to do Csections unless its an emergency..my second was breached so had to have the section cos I'd already had one and its dangerous to bring a breach if you've already had a section..each section takes about 45 mins plus prep time and recovery so that will give you a guide line to when you should get your news....
