Got an e mail from a really good friend. She's been in hospital for a week after a very nasty car accident. I last saw her at Christmas - and TBH before that it was probably the previous Christmas. She doesn't actually live that far away - 45 mins possibly.

It's made me think I really should make more of an effort. Really good friends are few and far between - phone calls every couple of months aren't enough.

I'm just so relieved she's OKish - she's got to wear a neck/back brace for a month.

We really shouldn't take good friends for granted ............I'd have been heartbroken if it had been more serious.

Well I immediately rang her and we had a good chat. I don't drive so it's not like I can jump in the car and go to her but ............I will be going real soon!

I'm glad your friend is Ok (ish) Soozy... But I know what you mean. It is so easy to take both friends (and sometimes family) for granted, but we never know what is round the corner...

So, so true soozy. It's scary tho how easy it is to take people for granted.

A friend of mine has been a pure diamond to me over the last few weeks ~ I must remember to give her a huge thank you hug.

What's that saying? We don't know what we've got till its gone (or summat like that).

I agree and glad she's ok Soozy. I think I am pretty good at keeping in touch with friends but there a few who I have let drift away as it was always me who was doing the arranging! Another good friend who I don't see as much is always saying "oh we must do this more often" but I always have to phone 3 times before she gets round to it!
