Edit: Doctor Who chat going on below here round about 25th onwards.
The only thing I've found that is new and I want to watch on December 25th is Doctor Who. This is pretty poor fare from the BBC...
Off to see what C4 & ITV have to offer now.

Film 4 to the rescue - Troll Hunter - I wanna see that.
ITV channels a let down too, nothing to watch there!
I will be watching Dr Who, but little else today. I may listen to the radio instead!

Always a wise choice
I have a couple (lots!) of films I've bought and not yet watched. This could be a good time to start.

But that's at half past 11 tonight!

I know! What a daft time to put on a film that I want to watch. It's going to be a tough one to stay awake through.
snap, its the highlight of my day...................
Aha, so now we know!
Anyone else think that Peter Capaldi bears a passing resemblance to 'The Silence'?
I have no knowledge of what you speak!

The Doc udrama A Journey Through Time and Space was on as well I enjoyed seeing the ideas behind the best ever Sci Fi story ever made up as you go along
So a crack in the sky sprinkles fairy dust on a dying doctor and he suddenly has another set of regenerations.
I'm glad they went with a big story line rather than underplaying it!
I only just got round to watching it a little while ago and i thought it was really good.... up until the last 3 mins or so! The whole bit back in the Tardis at the end was rubbish imo

I felt a bit let down. I expected something all together more impressive, not a head shake and that's yer lot!
It was the big good bye speech from Matt Smith that i didn't like EC, the whole old Bloke Doctor in the bell tower was better and should have been where Peter was first seen!

Yes, the bell tower would have been a more logical place for me given all the mouthing off at the Daleks he did there and that is also where the fairy dust hit him.
But recent Doctors all seem to want to do some protracted speech now - it's a bit overdone for me. I would like just one of them to go "see ya" and change.
I know why the actors do it but the actual doctor isn't going anywhere so for him to say an emotional good bye just doesn't make sense it should be more of a "Oh hang i'll brb"
what can I say... I must be easily pleased
'Kidneys!' I love him already.
just watched it
not a clue was what going on but i enjoyed it
Can anybody really fly that thing????

Pertwee or Baker for me. Baker shades it.
Tennant was a much better Doctor than Smith and he took his name from Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys - so another plus point

I don't believe that.. he's Scottish, he must have taken it from the lager...

I actually heard it today in a quiz!
Just looked it up.
taking his stage name from the Pet Shop Boys frontman Neil Tennant after reading a copy of Smash Hits magazine because there was another David McDonald already on the books of the Equity union. Tennant has stated that he later had to legally change his name to Tennant in order to meet Screen Actors Guild rules.

But his big regeneration was from old to young again...that would have used up a lot of it then, aaaatchooooo, one big sneeze and it's 'Helloooooooo, Mr Capaldi'!! It was a nice change, I thought!

I am probably wrong as I am sure that some of the Classic regens were outside, but do they have to be in the TARDIS to regen?? In the one where Ten-inch does the hand thingy, Capt Jack says that they have to get him to the TARDIS...or was that justan easy way to write the hand in??!!
I have confused myself now!!!

I liked Matt's farewell more than Ten-inches as his was more of a 'thank you' to the viewers than Ten-inches 'I don't want to go' which seemed a bit 'poor me' to me...Matt's was more positive and meant that Peter Capaldi is not the nasty person who stole Matt's job like Matt was with the Ten-inch fans....hope that makes sense!!!!

Me too!! I was excited about him before the regen, he will be fabulous!! Also, he will make losing Matt a bit easier to handle. Matt was born to be The Doctor, it seems to be in his bones and Peter is a life long fan who will only want the best for the show...what could be better??!!

I've lost the cast list for the MM, so I don't know who I'm talking to, but, I was the same.. the only problem I had with the long regen scene was my impatience! I was really looking forward to his first appearance and I loved his first line - wasn't disappointed, I think he's going to be as great as we expect.
Izzy is MrsB, Kaffy.
Ah! thanks Fluffs!
Were you wearing your fez for the occasion, Mrs B?
