Deman Big hug for little Marble, too.
Thanks
Fondest thoughts Deman at this emotional time.
brisket
Although when I got home yesterday, expecting him to have snuffed it, he was still pootling around, as if to say 'rumours of my demise have been exaggerated'.
I know it can't be long, though.

Deman......
How's little Marble today Demantoid?
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww demonoid you know i love small furries too and am always incredibly sad when i lose one...and i've lost a few this year so far...including my fav :'(
I've lost two guinea pigs this year, and everyone thinks........only rodents...not really important
They were both seven, and when we got them I never expected them to live that long.
To be honest my boys had lost interest in them, as they were all teens seven years after we got them, but they were gutted when they died.
I saw the first dandelion leaves this year, and felt really sad.......That was their favorite, and they would make this strange noise, and chattery like sound.
They both loved being out in their run in the garden, and they both were, not long before they died........One was a bit off the legs, but the healthy one went first. I'm pretty sure the other one died of a broken heart. I can really sympathise with you Deman.
One of the main reasons I'll never have a dog .

I'd agree with this. You know the eventuality will come, and it's sooooo hard when it does. Reference: Bo

He's still with us! I have a feeling he's been trying it on, for sympathy. He's still got the wobbly balance and doddery walk, but seems unbothered by it. When I got home yesterday, he was in the food bowl, quietly crunching away. And he was first on the scene later, when I put some dandelion leaves in!
Melodramatic little bugger..
Great news. SUPERHAMSTER..
stoory and hoobs - I've just read your posts
stoory - I've never met a hamster that didn't relish dandelion leaves, and guinea pigs obviously agree! Your two sound like they were lovely.

Dandelions,my rabbits love them too.Natures free food and good for them too.
glad to see marble still with us
i once had a rat with 3 lives i swear! she fell from the top of her (very tall) cage once, and landed funny...for a couple of days afterwards i really thought she was going to die, she even had steroid injections ffs lol! but she was wheezings and alsorts then one morning she just perked up! glad she did but i'd already resigned myself to the 'fact' she'll die soon...
then she got a really nasty respiratory problem and was gasping, normally a rat literally has minutes/hours left as they only really show they are ill when at deaths door (due to being a prey animal) she stopped breathing coldn't feel her heart beating..said goodbye and went to put her in a box...and she started breathing again she was ok after that....for about 3 months when i found her suddenly dead at the bottom of the cage
she always was a stubborn little madam! and lived to be over 4 years old...most rats are lucky to get to 3

Excellent news Deman - long live Marble!
Awwww, hooby
I really wish I'd captured one of Marbs' stunts on video when he was a bit younger. He was climbing the bars and decided he could hang on with one hand. For a couple of seconds after realising he couldn't, he frantically waved at us with the other hand, then plopped down.
He could have ended up on You've Been Framed!

Sigh just had bloody Cleo the rabbit at the vet yesterday.Off her grub, not pooing etc.Rabbits have to eat,if they don't their guts go into Stasis and it can be life threatening.Got a pee sample ,some protein in it ,vet thought the beginnings of yet another urine infection.Three injections, pain killer, gut stimulant, and anti-biotic.Meds to take home, pro biotic feed, pain killer and anti-biotics,bill ÂĢ72.00.She is much better today, eating and pooing...little bugger.
haha i can just see that!
i rescued two new rats today i've renamed them shaggy and scooby

Katty, I hope Cleo's OK - I never realised until you educated me that rabbits were so complicated to look after.
Hoobs - more rats?! If I had them (after watching a bit of Flight Of The Conchords last night) I'd have probably called them Bret and Jemaine
How did you happen to rescue them?
Good news all round today with Cleo and Marble.Long may it continue.
I know, Bo
He's still keepin' on truckin'
He's still keepin' on truckin'
I'm pleased.
He's still doing his "Oops, I know my legs are less than an inch long and my stomach is touching the sawdust but I'm still going to fall over" thing, but it doesn't seem to bother him or affect his appetite

got them from a rescue section of pets at home lol, they have a section with animals from our local rescue centre there. i dont give pets at home the money though i just donate to the lady at the rescue centre instead...pets at home can swivle (they sometimes use it to get rid of animals they couldn't sell as babies...so therefore still make money...so i dont like to give them the money)
Marble's still with us
When I got up this morning, he was chowing down in the food bowl - and his brother was washing his face for him while he ate..

Aww lovely Deman. Thanks for the update. Bless him.
Good news Deman, Marble The Marvel soldiers on, yay.
Well Cleo is also fine, back to her wallpaper chewing buggery self!
Deman rabbits can be demanding but it's just your luck.Rio who is six has been at the vet once with illness.Cleo who is three has been about six times..sigh.
That is why they are the most dumped pets, once they grow out of the cute fluffy baby stage and become big old stroppy demanding buggers.

Also mine are total house rabbits, if you have them as outdoor bunnies they need two sets of immunisation jabs each year. One for the awful MYXI and one for VHD disease.
Oh and Darth...Grr... at Pets at home etc. They sell rabbit babies to anyone and also sell stupid little hutches that are far too small for them.
It breaks my heart to see all the "returned bunnies" for adoption.
My big old boy Rio when he lies stretched out is nearly two feet long,he weighs 3 plus kilos,so those silly wee hutches are useless. They need huge runs if they are outdoor buns,However mine have the run of the house and are carpet slobs. They are only caged at bedtime,or if I'm out.

Oh and "Elwood" the geriatric hammy is still creaking along..

aye, i have a big thing against pet shops lol. i dont think they should sell any animal...not without the laws being MUCH stricter.with rats, even the information books they sell are filled with complete bollocks! imagine it the same for all other animals.
I've thought of getting rats, but we end up with hammies.Maybe when (whispers) Elwood is gone ,I'll think about it.I've got 6 year old budgie "Mr.Jinks" Bunnies ,Rio and Cleo and old boy hammy Elwood.

Bless his little fluffy bum Katty and Darth, I'll never understand people who keep pets without finding out anything about what care they need first. If you take responsibility for a little animal's life, you owe it to them to know what you're doing.
If I ever decide to have rats, I'll do my research first - and probably pick Darth's brains on the subject!
Keep on trucking Marble.
He still is, Bo. Doddery but determined
