I think that despite his greater number of years he has tonight a better voice than Suggs.

Suggs has never been a great singer, has he!  That's not to disparage him, his style fits Madness's style of music.  He's always sung in that slightly nasal affected style that comes from the front of the mouth which is more like we talk.  He doesn't sing from the throat and lungs like Simon Cowell likes it.

I was thinking about the notes sung, how long they can be held and how steady they are. Live is always different to studio, but some of our older performers now show signs of demising voice quality. By better I meant some of the above points really.
