I think he's just blew it, even though she deserved all she got. She didn't like it when it was at her doorstep, she didn't blink an eye when she treated Freddie and Angel like that for weeks.
Oh and the way he was saying the public like him as they have had plenty of chances to get him out, with that stupid smug look on his face. He really does think he is invincible now that Kenneth/Tom (I forget who) told him he was favourite
