If my other half was actually my other half we'd look quite odd
I saw someone refer to their girlfriend as 'their bit of clunge' the other day
I always just say b/f... or B if I'm talking to people who know his name
I wonder why OH seems so popular now

I mistake it as someone saying 'oh' as in 'oh the Grand old Duke of York, he had ten thousand men (shlaaaaaaaaag)' and it reads quite funny Reference:

No, it was an adult
The alternatives aren't exactly appealing. 'The missus' ugh... bf or gf just sounds a bit childish, dunno why. Her indoors, lol. See wot I mean?

there is a lack of good 'names'.... i just get images of half people wandering about
Boyfriend is equally, if not more, daft tbh.
I used to refer to mine as The Maid.....wonder if thats why we split up?

Maybe you split up because she refused to wear the outfit?Reference:

Surely it depends who you're speaking to at the time though? I don't mind being referred to as 'the missus' or 'the better half ' in general sort of terms, but I wouldn't be impressed if I was introduced to his family as that. I hated being known as 'fiancee' (cos I decided I didn't want to marry the fella at the time so it was a bit redundant). I dunno, I get called by a shortened version of my name and it suits me fine (and no, it's not 'cow' or other words beginning with C )
Wud that be the lil black n white number wiv the....ermmmm ! ....*changes channel*
I call him Mr Blizz, on here, mostly, but he is the half of us who likes shopping and moaning.
I don't have one ,never have.My family always say to me...you'd have / made/make a great partner/wife etc.I always think..no I wouldn't.I'm selfish..not in a bad way, just that I like me,others irk me.I cannot ever envisage anyone else in my double bed long term..pah! Oh I've had some company etc..
I love my nieces and nephews etc but the thought of any of my own never even crossed my mind.I'm 54 now ,happy and child/grandkid free.
I think there's a lot more of us out there.

I'm with Sazbomb on this one. In almost every situation the real name is just fine it's only on the internet these bizarre references seem necessary. I would say OH on the internet as the lesser of all other evils but would never say it in the real world.Reference:

I reckon yours is Dame or Lady - you probably got a Knighthood for services to Macs Reference:

There's nowt wrong with anything as long as you're happy!EDIT: I mean in sexual preference, not in general. Like there's something seriously wrong with wanting to be a terrorist or an axe murderer or a traffic warden...but sexual preference means not a jot.

Terrorist, axe murderer and 'traffic warden'?
Yes
Achh! ye's are awright...in a non fumble way..
Sorry to go off on a bit of a tangent but just to let peoples know that a repeat of the Apprentice has just started on BBC1. It's got the sign language lady in the corner (the one who appears when it's past bed time). I often wonder if she's really reiterating what they're saying through sign language or if she's really saying 'oi you stupid dozy caaaah! No wonder you look like a sack of shit - get to bed'

OH is not a term I would use in RL but I have used it since joining the forum. (Sorry Saz)
I suppose it just makes a change from "hubby" - I don't say that in RL either.
