Right, how ye know all the details if you did not reach the island and who was this letter too.... *taps foot and waits for an answer*

well as ye asked nicely the letter were to Lord Longshanks himself   I'd been able to calculate the Blackbirds position and I felt this would be useful to his Lordship what wiv him being desperate to know when the Blackbird would next dock in Freeport .

Well, Good Evenin' you revoltin' bunch. Ah take it the inns are all closed on Sunday's in these parts?

Ah was a hopin' to catch that bizarre Yu Lie woman, Ah need her to tell me what she was a discussin' with the Longshanks's chinese chef down at the dockside. Ah was just out for mah daily promenade when Ah saw her and the chef a talkin'. The conversation must have been fairly important as things were a lookin' mighty heated and there was a lot of pointin' towards the Blackbird. Ah wonder if it was a new restaurant they were a discissin' or if maybe it was she who, as the sayin' goes' dropped darlin' ol' Inky and his crew 'in it' with the authorities?

well apparently this Longshanks wanted the Cap'n very badly and I admit I gave him the means to do so by the information I gave him only cos I wanted to get the Cap'n out of the way so I could get back to that island and get me hands on that treasure.  I wanted the Cap'n in prison not dead   but it makes me think that I weren't the only one who might have being helping Longshanks get his prey.  But did some scurvy dog go further than me and murrrrder him?

Why be Longshanks so desperate ter know when the Blackbird be dockin'? I wonder if it be fer the treasure or fer one person in particular?

So ye have gone from bein' here for research ter admittin' yer be seekin' the treasure like every one else. Did the Cap'n know yer were a huntin' the treasure an' all?

I reckon that Yu Lie was passing messages to Longshanks as well    there is more fire in a small dead fish than her slow body at getting back here to answer for herself

And? What are you implyin' by that? Ah always met the ship when it came in as Ah knew darlin' ol' Inky would always have some pretty new jewels for me.

Longshanks seems to be in cahoots with more members of the crew I care to mention, the plot thickens...there seems to be many a crew member willin' to give Longshanks plenty o' info on Inky.

If ye bothered to listen to a word I said, ye'd know that right from the first I admitted I wanted my hands on the treasure to retire early and write my book.  I took the job initially to observe to get characters.  When I found out about the buried booty, well I guess I must have a pirate nature after all, because I felt the urge to steal it  But my plan to get hold of his treasure did not entail murdering him.

I have no idea if the Cap'n knew I was hunting for the treasure but as he suspected everyone was after it, I suppose he did

Why?

that I don't know - he put the word out that ole Inky was the pirate most wanted dead or alive and I'm sure it's because he was the pirate with the most booty therefore, Longshanks must have thought he was the best.

It be natural fer me to be wonderin' what yer rush to board the ship were wench, as it 'appens there be a good reason for Inky to be handed over dead or alive. You've said yerself ye would sell yer granny more or less Brassy, so don't ye be getting all stroppy on me

mebbe you're right - she might be obfuscating matters by pretending not to speak good enough English in the hopes that we don't think she is the murderrrer

Ah have neveh been so offended in all mah life. You make me sound so verreh heartless and Ah am not. Ah have only eveh wanted the best for mahself, that is all. And when you look at the lengths this sordid lot were prepared to go to to get there filthy hands on that treasure, then they are far worse than me. All Ah eveh did was take what Ah felt Ah had paid for.
