So were ye offered a place a medical school that the Cap'n were a refusin' ter let yer go on? And why would he be so keen ter keep yer, surely he could just have captured himself a surgeon?

Well, no, not "offered", really. But me gig as ship's surgeon lit a fire in me, as it were, and I KNOW I could be a success as a surgeon, with the proper schoolin'.

Methinks the Cap'n wanted to keep me 'cuz of special talents I have in carpentry, to be honest.

let's face it Ms Brassy - Cap'n Black trusted no one - and that includes you.  He told each of us things that the others didn't know about - ask yourself why?  He trusted no one but he wanted us to all believe that we alone had information to trade.

Cap'n Black had secrets, 'tis true, and he had me do some special projects. Scurvy pirates with secrets tend to develop paranoia, and stop trustin' their most trustworthy compadres.

I'm so good I'm STILL not tellin'.....though if ye were to ask the right questions, ye'd get the answers.

You keep on about mah diary like it is some kahnd of mystical marvel, holdin' all kahnds of secrets. It is just a diary. Ah have already told y'all that darlin' ol' Inky was mah supplier and that Ah had a near miss with a ring and Governor Longshanks. Ah have also made no secret of the fact that not all of my clients are necessarily buyin' for their wives, but who am Ah to judge? Ah have also made it perfectly clear that Ah knew darlin' ol' Inky was not as generous with me as Ah would have liked, but that Ah was more than a match for him. Ah am pretty sure you will find nothin' new in mah diary other than how in tune with the moon mah body is.

Right, I been a thinkin' and have a few questions fer yer. Now, there ain't no guaranteein' that they be the right ones cos my thinkin' time was reduced greatly by Lance, so if I be makin' no sense, yer can blame him

1) What be these 'special projects' that the Cap'n had ye workin' on? Were they anythin' at all ter do with that cursed treasure everyone seems so concerned with? Or were they to protect him from the crew he couldn't trust?

2) Did he ever tell ye anythin' about the odd one that be Yu Lie? And did ye make her cabinet fer her chemicals and stuff?

3) Do ye know what any of the secrets ye mentioned are? If ye do, please tell me what they are, the man be dead now, what harm could it do?

4) Do ye know which people he trusted the least and why? If so, who and why??!!

5) Why you be called Gayle when you be male??

That be doin' fer now, I'm off to try an' reacquaint my thighs with each other. That medicine of Lance's sure is somethin' special, so sweet of him to name it after me!

Arrrgh Vi, ye be a sight for sore eyes I be having to travel to the next town to top up on me potion, we seemed to be using it up a hefty pace lassie. I will try to get back before ye have to much grog, it would have been quicker by horse, but I'm a bit saddle sore at the moment.

If ye in bed, I'll be giving ye 10 bangs...then ye'll know it's me and I'll be sweeping yer of yer feet  pirate_swing.gif

1) Well, he made me promise on pain o' death ne'er to tell, but he cain't hurt me now! He had me build him a secret drawer behin' the writin' desk in 'is cabin. I got no idear what he put in there, though--coulda been the map, methinks now.

2) The Cap'n was not a man to confide in folk--at least not me! He ne'er mentioned Yu Lie to me. If'n I made Yu Lie's cabinet, I don't know it.

3) All I know about is that thar secret drawer. Don't know nuthin' else, but it's clear 'e had secrets, ain't it?

4) I refer ye to question #2.

5) There ya go, showin' yer ignorance agin', lassie "GaYLE" for men, "GaIL" fer wimmin.

Well, well, well. I kept me head low, me back to the wall and me weapons at ready and I seem to be alright.. I feared one or more of you might try to end my days but you have been so busy running around trying to find some evil plot accounting for the death of Cap'n black that I find i could have had a decent sleep

Save for a strange and barbarous comment about me and the cap'n all I see is the whole situation become ever more messy.

In my mind the cap'ns days were ended in a cold and calculated manner, no struggle, fighting or messing about, If the knife had been on his desk at the time even a weak woman could have stuck the blade through the ribs while stifling any cries with her other hand. Yes I think this could well have been a woman's work.. We shall see.

Be this a confession ye scurvy mare? I bloomin' hope so cos I be havin' fer better things ter be a doin' than tryin' ter figure out which of ye trublesome lot killed the Cap'n.

Well, it was not the work of this woman, Ah can assure you of that. Have you seen mah hands? They are far too delicate to commit such an awful crime. But your worn and hardened hands look ideal to li'l ol' me for such an act.
