No it won't and good for you!

Trust me, thinking about it is always loads worse that getting it done - I always get in a right state beforehand then after think what a fuss I made about nothing Hug

It doesn't bother me in the least getting a smear test,a few minutes of discomfort every three years for peace of mind.Saying that I just flop and chat to the nurse about mundane things. Big Grin
I've even been up the colposcopy clinic with a camera and biopsy taken after an internal ultra sound, just like an Anne summers toy, with about half a dozen staff there, they were checking my womb for calcified fibroids(cancer) all benign.

Ladies please do not die of embarrasment.Go for your check ups!

It all seems to have changed loads these days - I know that instead of trying to time your appt for midway through your cycle you can pretty much go anytime as long as you are not actually on your period.

I've never been told that I should refrain from sex beforehand but I'll call one of my colleagues in the morning and check.

The only reason I can think of is that sometimes deep penetrative sex could possibly 'bash' the cervix a wee bit leading to it appearing slightly inflammed?

Thanks for your help last night girls, I went and she said it seems fine and it was over in a second! Just have to play the waiting game!

I was a bit shocked but because on my 20th birthday I got a letter telling me to go for my smear but when I went for the appointment she said that Northern Ireland only do the test on 25+ so the policy must have changed in the last 6 months! Glad I got it over with but.
