I've only been to Brussels once on a day trip years ago, but from what I remember it was lovely. Great bars, too.

Hope that you have a great time! We love Brussels. I don't fly and use it as a stepping stone to get to The Fatherland. I'd be interested to know which hotel you stayed in and what it was like. We're booked in the IBIS next to the Eurostar terminal this year. You'll love the Eurostar.

Thanks Joe, we're staying in the Hotel Leopold which is near the European Parliament.

We used to stay at one to the South. Fabulously big beds and huge breakfasts but were that fed up of the inconsistent taxi fares we thought that  we would try one by the railway. The grand place/groot markt is well worth a visit especially if there is an exhibition on and the eating places leading out of it to the North West are many in number and therefore competitively good value.

Thanks Joe, we are only staying 2 nights so have a small wheelie case - so we're going to try the metro! I def want to visit the Grand Place!

I'm back! Wow I'm glad I didn't go by plane!
It was great - loved it all. Brussels is a mix of old and new. The atonium is much more impressive in the "flesh" and the Eurostar was very efficient and easy.

I thought about you! I bet the Eurostar was packed out.
