60/40 to Uru in the second half won't help.

I'm not a fan of the keep ball game

I think the point I am making is that if we don't have much possession we are limiting our chances of turning this around. We all know that chasing the game on this continent is difficult and we could well end up fatigued later on.

But from what I've seen of the keep ball game, there's not many players can play with it. They keep getting it taken off them so pass it and make the opposition chase it is my theory?

He has reached his tipping point as a player.

I'm all for keeping a couple of mature players but I honestly wonder why they dropped Ashley Cole.   And yes, I know he and Gerrard play in different positions but my money would have been on him rather than 'Stevie'.

Rooney continues to unimpress too - but I never expect from him, so anything extra is a bonus.

And finally, they've never had the fighting spirit since Tel's day.

I think he's on a downer since losing the Premiership?

He hasn't actually done anything of merit in an England shirt full stop Rog

Agreed, but that one man isn't even that good.

He probably would be if played in the position where he plays his best football...

Yes I agree and that is my idea of possession football. The reason we get caught in possession is that we are not cute enough to create enough options for the player on the ball and also we are not technically as adept as other nations. But the crucial point is we need the possession to create offensive opportunities. We can't rely on chasing the ball down or free kicks and corners. There may come a point in the game when it's sh*t or bust - at that point we will need to throw everything at the Uraguayians!!  Just not sure we have enough to make it count though.

He is playing in his preferred position tonight...in two world cups Rooney has done nothing.

If you think about it, he played a massive part in them not winning the title - maybe it's a hangover from that.
