Mmmmmmmmmmmm ...............................I only have to look at that and my tastebuds tingle.

I liked Sherbert Dabs too with the little lollipop.

And aniseed balls.

Anyone remember Acid Drops? I'm not quite sure if I liked them or not TBH -

No ......chocolate covered caramels in a silver foil wrapper with a young girl in a blue dress on it.

As Baz said - you're thinking Bon Bons.

I lived next door to one nan but my other nan used to come to dinner every other Sunday - she used to bring these blackcurrant cakes with a sort of icing topping - they were a real treat for after tea on a Sunday - and Corona Cream Soda that my Dad bought back from the pub on a Sunday lunchtime.

We always had them at Christmas........

We always had orange and lemon slices, dates and a small tin of Quality Street for our Christmas treats. They sat under the tree and under no circumstances were they opened until Christmas day.

God only knows what we'd have made of the humungous tins of sweets that are around these days - my lot get through tins of them. That small tin used to last us ages ............it was a moment of anticipation when it was opened and handed round - you desperately hoped that your favourite was still there and if it wasn't it was fingers crossed that you'd made a good choice

The old lady round the corner who was my nans friend used to come round after Christmas with the toffee pennies and toffee fingers - I think her and her husbands teeth couldn't cope with them.

Funnily enough neither me or my sister wanted them from the tin but a few weeks after Christmas when all the goodies were gone - we'd fight for them

Fruit is the one thing we always had plenty of ...............my dad was a green grocer in the market. We were the envy of a lot of kids - we always had the usual apples, oranges, pears and bananas but also pineapple, grapes, peaches - lots of fruit.

A lot of kids nowadays shudder at fruit - it's like asking them to eat sprouts or something. I love fruit.
