I have never seen anything like that, with that lozenge shaped bit on the bottom! It's too dark to make out .

In Scotland the only crisps that were available when I was very young were Golden Wonder Plain crisps. They came with a medium blue salt bag that was twisted at the top to keep the salt in. They cost 3d.

I remember clearly when Smiths launched Salt'nShake crisps (probably around the early eighties), it being explained on the news, why the bags were sqare and not rounded with a twisted top.

The pic. is a badge, I couldn't find a pic. of the original bag, they were just a square of blue greaseproof paper with salt in and twisted at the top, and were definitely Smiths.

I do and did live in England tho

READY SALTED CRISPS

When you had Ricicles, it meant you didn't need to sprinkle sugar onto your Rice Krispies, and so when they brought out Ready Salted crisps in the 60's, it meant you no longer had to sprinkle salt onto your crisps. Before then, you should remember they were sold as plain crisps but included a wee blue bag of salt inside the packet for you to spread all over the crisps.
It seems nothing now, but when Ready Salted originally hit the scene, it wasn't just a novelty, it was more like a giant leap forward into the future!

Oh look....they were still 3d when they got the salt 'stuck onto them'.

Christmas morning - new dress, socks, cardie, undies, hat, coat and shoes. No matter what event went before we were not allowed to wear until Christmas Day.

Undies from BHS, coat and dress from C&A, shoes hmmmmmmmm - probably Stead and Simpson or Freeman, Hardy and Willis. We thought we were the bees knees walking round to my Nan's on Christmas morning - it was a lovely feeling.

The same for anyone else?
