Moonie, the reason is that the page on the thread showing that is almost certainly because someone has posted an image from a website which is not an https one.

Provided that it's a reputable website, it's unlikely to matter. The image can also be a smiley which has been taken from another website - all the forum smileys here are https ones as this site is https.

It doesn't mean that people shouldn't use images from non-https sites, it just means that the page will show up as not secure.

Baz, most of the pages on your Darnie thread don't have images on so show up as a secure page but if you look at your Ros's birthday thread as that has images from non-https sites it shows up as not secure.

Yes, but it wasnt flagging anything up for me in any thread El ....is that cos I’m on my iPad ?

Baz

Not having an ipad makes it hard for me to say what to expect. When using Chrome this is what Google says:

  1. Open a page in Chrome on your computer.
  2. To check a site's security, to the left of the web address, look at the security status:
    • Lock Secure
    • Info Info or Not secure
    • Dangerous Not secure or Dangerous
  3. To see the site's details and permissions, click the icon. At the top of the panel, you'll see a summary of how private Chrome thinks the connection is.
