Dolly are you definitely signed in, because it doesn't appear if you are not? And also there have been problems on browsers using Internet Explorer. Changing to Firefox or Google Chrome works best for there

When I click on that link there is a Post New Topic button, so that just leaves the browser, you're not on IE by any chance?

Dolly they know about the problem with IE. They are working to solve it but if you can use another browser (Firefox is what I use and it is quick to download, fairly troublefree and cost nothing) then you could probably access without problems straight away. Otherwise hopefully they will solve the problem soon and you can post at the moment just not open new topics. Hope that helps.

Dolly is all sorted now Fluffy, she is going to download Firefox until they sort out IE.
Dolly I did post this further back but you probably missed it.
The Forum is a group. I've checked the members list on the group and you have not joined it. Click the join group button at the top of the page, then you will be able to post a new topic. If you don't join the group you will only be able to reply to existing topics.

You are correct, it's the same details. Once we have been embedded you call up the log-in page the same way as you do for here, in the meantime this https://www.hoo.do will take you to the home page. You can EXPLORE and read things, but if you want to post stuff you will have to SIGN IN and complete your profile. once your profile has been completed you should only need to SIGN-IN.quote:Originally posted by charmer:

Have you got Dolly as a buddy? If you have you can send her an invitation to join the group. She is not yet my buddy but I have requested her to be my buddy and if she accepts and is not yet a member of the group I will send her an invite, but if she is your buddy already you can invite her first
You don't have to receive a buddy invitation to join a group ...
Which group are we then?
You can pretty much join any group you want. Mostly we are in a Group called FORUM, but the Sinking Ship is in a group called 'The Sinking Ship'quote:Originally posted by cologne1:

Hi Squiggle, you don't have to be a buddie to join a group. If you look at this link at the top of the page is a join group button.
http://forum.hoop.la/
It's a bit complicated to understand the groups thing at the moment. Because our forum has not been moved over a guy called Topic who owns that forum has lent it to us, that is why you need to join his group. The Sinking Ship is another group owned by James VIP. It took me a while to figure it out. Now anyone can post a new topic in the support forum because that is not a group.

I like to do that as a courtesy thing because its so much easier if you have an invitation waiting for you, I have done that with all my buddies. I checked out asking her to join without her being a buddy but it seemed to involve sending her an email?

You just click on the option which says Join this Group ... then you receive an alert saying you have joined the group ... then you can post topics in the group ...

Dolly has already struggled because she was using IE (she is now downloading Firefox) so I thought an invite would featherbed her into the group with no further probs.

Squiggle making someone a buddie does not automatically make them a member of a group, they have to join the group. I'm a member of the Livecloud Rockin Recipes Group none of my buddies are members.

Yes I do know that, but the method when someone is your buddy is so simple, you can just send them an invitation to join the group
I'm using IE too ... not by choice, it's the only browser on this borrowed laptop I'm using ... I know there have been problems with IE on LC ... but it hasn't affected me joining groups or posting topics on them ...

Sounds like a kicking group Essex ...
Has nothing to do with IE, or downloading firefox or whatever. Has everything to do with no yet having clicked the link to join the group.
Forums (whyever someone named it that and made things even more confusing....?) isn't a forum, it is a group within the LiveCloud world. In order to post to the group you need to belong to it first Click the link that says join this group. Even works in IE.

I think perhaps that the confusion with Groups/Forums is because many, many FMs are not members of Facebook etc, therefore not conversant with the concept of Groups.
Oh, I agree *BB*. Thus I question why this group owner named it "forum" making it even more confusing to people. I know they wanted to help but I think it is even more confusing that way.
Once gagajoyjoy is imported, there is a real forum and a central place for people to come together I think that the way LiveCloud works will be far more easy for people to figure out.

So, is gaga closing down completely or if people were to click on gaga would it bring them over to the gaga on live cloud automatically?
