Exactly. It's not the fault of the BNP that the people voted them in...if there had been a better turn out, then maybe they wouldn't have done. Don't complain unless you bothered to vote.

I voted....not for the BNP...but I voted...how many of these egg throwers and complainers did???

Not necessarily.....people are quick to moan about these things, but the figures show that very few bothered to vote. Maybe if more had, then the BNP wouldn't have got in....

My thoughts exactly - well said you two. Clapping

In his defence, however, I do have to say he does appear to be a good speaker. Not that he would win me over of course - I would never vote for such a prejudiced party.

I still cannot believe they gained two seats in the European Elections!! Eeker

Neither can I Eeker It is very sad that people have voted for them...sadder still that no-one really believed they were a real threat and sat back and let them in. I sincerely hope that when there is a general election, the lesson will have been learnt and they will not do so well.

I'd wager if someone is bothered enough to make banners and throw eggs, they'd be bothered enough to vote.

Just a thought.

Personally, I believe it's a good dose of karma, but he's got plenty more coming to him.

and I like most of us am all in favour of free speech and I believe that MOST people should have that right,
EXCEPT when it comes to those who spread hate, and those who we KNOW (despite what they SAY) would REMOVE that right for all of us the MOMENT they got their filthy hands on power,
I say WELL DONE to the protesters only wish I couldve been there with ya,

and by doing so they are playing directly into his hands, they realy are stupid thinking that shouting him down is going to do anything but gain him publicity and encourage people to want to hear why a group of imbeciles are trying to block his free speech

just listen to the comments being called into r5live

Not nice to do that.

I hate all that too. If your kids did it n school you'd punish them...yet (allegedly) intelligent adults seem to think it's perfectly acceptable to do it.... Crazy

i did not vote for him, i did vote for his party but not in support of it, other than their anti eu stance i find them vile but i did want to use my vote to make the biggest point i could.

i certainly dont want to listen to what he has to say but all these nutters trying to stop him are as the op points out making him a martyr and thats no good for anyone.

If the likes of Griffin can get away with saying what he wants... then surely the converse is also true... i.e. you can say what you want about him and his party, as that's just your right to free speech after all... or does it only apply to one side now?

Free speech is one thing...violence (throwing objects at people with the intention to injure is violence, surely?) is another...or is violence ok if you are aiming it at a member of the BNP??

haha well sort of, cause having SAID all that I think if Nick the Nazi hadve been speaking near where I am, it wouldve been SO hard NOT to want to lob an egg or two me self,
but it DOES give his supporters chance to feel hard done by, ...but the anger I feel towards those scumbags is hard to supress Nod
