^ I echo syd & rexi's sentiments! We usually go out for a meal and be home by 11pm, open some drinkie and see in the new year in our pj's This year we've decided to stay in, just us with good food, a few drinks and watch the hootenanny! I dare say I'll be lurking on here too, and why not, since I call in most evenings throughout the year

Love it

I'll bet they'll taste twice as good as the ones you buy yourself

He'll still be asking me at Easter if i've still got them

Takeaway, Jools (but turn to BBC or STV for the bells), perfect G & T ready for midnight... open the curtains.. see if I can see the fireworks from Edinburgh (I can usually see the glow at least) then back to telly... no visitors (first footing ain't what it used to be for which I've become glad as I've got older)  Probably bob on and off here like I do every night.     New Year's Day I'll be out for dinner at my sister's and will probably see the rest of the family there New Year's night for the usual games and drinkies.      Tree down on the 2nd and back to 'auld claes and parrridge'    I'm almost ready to go back to work now.  Sad cow.

Going OUT.  This is mine and Mr. Cosi's night.

We've fed, watered, entertained and nursed the hordes through both Christmas and Boxing Day, so it's now our turn.  All the kids are grown up and doing their own thing, so no guilt trips here.

Off to our favourite restaurant with friends.  When the dinner is over they then crank up the music and everyone has a good old knee's up.  It's by invite only which makes the 'mix' very sociable - no strangers or oddballs lurking.  They set off fireworks on the beach at midnight (which can be a bit precarious if it's windy )  and then carry on with more partying back at the restaurant until around 3am.

New Year's Day is usually spent in recovery.

If we weren't going out I'd get a take-away and maybe ask a few close mates round.

We'd probably stick on Jools to see in the New Year.  I like evenings like that;  ones that have no plans but end up being a good time anyway

i had lamb bhuna earlier.  I'm still stuffed.

Back to new year... i always see it in with Jools, but can't be doing with the fake countdown - i need to watch that bit live.

My niece's mate was at the recording of Jools this year (lucky sod) she met Cyndi Lauper, Aloe Blacc and James Morrison (and told him she loved him - even though she can't stand him 'but I was pissed eh?' was her comment )

Now if I was pishfull'd to the eyeballs and happened to meet Louis Walsh (please god may this never, ever happen),  I'd tell him the truth!

Here's hoping that you have a much, much better year in 2012 GJ
