The problem with editing is still with us though....endlessly whirring cogs, but if you refresh you'll see your edit has actually posted.

I'm also still getting the problem with thpage not loading and therefore no working reply box until I refresh the page and get it to load fully.

Xochi, I'll go and see what I can find out. I'mm just in from work and haven't explored much yet.

It is taking me longer to post than it did before cogs turning forever trying to find out were everything is I give up to many changes and not for the best

I'm still getting that too Fluffs... I reckon it's a bit of a 'niche' problem at the moment though!

Xochi, I think the difference between New Topic and Quick New Topic is the Quick New Topic misses out the various formatting, images, graemlins and other icons, which is fine if you just want to create a plain text topic. Don't ask me why this new option is available for New Topics but not for Post Reply because I don't know.

If you decide you do want to use the icons then you can then click Continue Using Detailed Posting Form which will take you to the normal New Topics form but we are lead to believe retains the text that you have created to dateon the Quick New Topics form.

No trouble getting there and back, then went into one of the forums to get a look at what these two options gave me.

It's pretty much as El Loro says:-

QUICK NEW TOPIC opens a box that looks pretty much like a reply box, but it has a Small box for you to give your topic a title and not much else. This topic will be posted in the forum you are in when you pressed the 'QUICK NEW TOPIC' button.

NEW TOPIC however has a lot more options, you can post the topic to another forum you can add pics, tags, attachments, make it into a polletc.,

The QUICK option does have a button you can press that it opens it up into the expanded form without you having to re-enter all the info.

I've made a reply to a query raised by OneTwo on a different thread which may be of general interest to others as follows:

Is there a way to get back to the front page of the Lounge from the fred I'm in without scrolling up please does anyone know. I used to do that before didn't I ?

The simplest way is as follows. Go to the front page of the Lounge (or whichever page you want). Then from your browser (not Livecloud) menu select Bookmarks (I'm using Firefox) and then Bookmark This Page. If you are using IE, the equivalent is Favorites - Add to Favorites.

So in future, when you want to go straight to the Lounge, select it from the Bookmarks menu. Note that you need to be logged onto Livecloud first if you want to see the correct time settings and be able to make postings. I personally don't bother to log off when quitting Livecloud so I don't need to log on.

I have created a new topic in the Tips and Tricks forum where I have repeated this so that it doesn't get lost.

Has anyone worked out how to send a buddy request?

If you click on their gingerbread man you will get an option to add (or delete) that person as a buddy.

Looks like it's suddenly working properly now. Woohoo!

I guess that's what they were up to when it chucked me off and locked me out.

Then again, maybe not totally, 'cos it didn't work here, but the edit worked properly in the Bar of the Sinking Ship.

I presume you know how to get the latest drop down menu (hover your cursor over the LiveCloud logo at the very top left of the page). The 'Explore' menu is under the 'My Site' option. That opens another menu so you can move between channels, find blogs etc... the search option is at the bottom of that! Easy when you know how!

Hurrah I can post can anyone help me please last night the front page was showing all the wrong post times,and when I was trying to post the post reply box was not coming up I deleted my cookies and it was okay,I tried to get on here this morning when I did the front page is showing all the wrong times again,when I tried to post it told me I had to sign in when I did the cogs were turning forever I gave up,do we have to sign in every time we come on here,it used to have a box we could tick saying remember me it is not there now,also I clicked on ticker and it is telling me I have to sign in again I have an apple mac and use safari is anyone else having the same problems  thank you

After you have signed in have you tried saving a short cut to that page?

Marguerita:  You should not have to sign in every time you come here, but when you delete your cookies, you'll have to sign in again.

We've had some service issues over the weekend that bled into this morning, so that may account for the slow response time.

Hi marge, as Lori says you have to be signed in to do various things, like post and view your ticker. I cannot say what originally logged you out, but certainly clearing all your cookies would have done that anyway and you will have to sign in again after clearing them.
As for the time display....when you are not signed in the time-display defaults to Seattle time and it is only when you are signed in that your own time zone displays.

Not being able to get a reply box up or posting is to do with the page not loading properly,even though it may look OK. This is a long running problem and all we can do in the short term is refresh the page and try again (and hope that someone eventually manages to figure out what's causing it and what to do to sort it! )

Marge, I have the 'remember me' box ticked. If I just close my window and computer then I will still be signed on when I nevt access the site. If I 'Sign-out' then I will have to 'Sign-in' next time I access the site, but the e-mail address and password boxes are already filled in, so all I need to do is click the 'SIGN IN' button.It would only be if I deselected the 'remember me' box, or cleared my cookies, that I would expect to have to TYPE IN the information myself. Are you having to type in your e-mail and password, or are they already there and you just click 'SIGN IN'?

Hi Fluffy I never sign out I have to sign in with my email address and password but there is no box now since the upgrade to say remember me

I never sign out and up till a day or two ago as always signed in everytime i came back...i didn't sign in or out for weeks...but now everytime I come back i have to sign in now so i know what Marge means

To me that suggests that SOMETHING is signing you out, even though you're not actively doing it yourself. I haven't signed out since before the latest upgrade but am not having to sign in when I load up the site.

I'm using FireFox, could it be something in your browser that's doing it?

Nothing has changed on my laptop as far as I'm aware...

I've only been on IE since we got this new one..and I never had any of the postin problems that others did

The setting for the "Remember Me" button got turned off (seems to have done that on its own.....).  It should be there again.

If you are using IE and are finding that you keep on having to log in every time, it may be worth checking to see if your browsing history is being automatically deleted very time you quit the browser. Just check Tools - Internet Options, go to the General page and see if the Delete browsing history on exit has been set.
