Kaytee, which version of Firefox are you using? Mine is v 3.5.7 but v 3.6 is now available. When I post comments, the comment is posted OK. However if I try to subsequently edit it, the comment is apparently rejected and I just get the cogs. However I find that if I close the cogs screen (click on little cross on the top right corner of the cog screen), then close the edit reply screen again by clicking the little cross,  I return to the ordinary forum screen apparently showing my unchanged comment. But if I then refresh the screen (click on blue circular arrow near the beginning of the Firefox row of icons) my edited comment is shown.

I have just edited this posting and followed the above method to get this sentence appearing. Hope this is of help.

Thank you....I'm on FF 3.5 at the moment......and the 'edit' hasn't been much of a problem for me. It's just posting on the forum part of LC that is a nightmare. The rest of the site works perfectly. I have tried IE, Chrome and FF and the problem is still there to greater or lesser degree. I have no problems at all with any other sites....but thanks for the advice anywayxx

I don't know whether this is going to help at all, but have you tried exploring from the Firefox - Tools - Error Console option. What I suggest is before you try any further postings on Livecloud, you go to the Post Reply screen, then you go to this option. Select Clear when in the All tab to clear the listed error messages so you have a clear screen, then come out of the Error Console. Now try posting a comment on Livecloud, then return to the Error Console to see what has appeared.

On my Error Console, a whole list of Warning messages appear every time any page on Livecloud is accessed. I am guessing that you will also have these warning messages but presumably you will also have actual Error messages which I don't get. I suggest you post these Error messages (from the Error tab) in a posting to the Livecloud gurus in case this shows what is going on. By the way if you select any of these messages you get a further screen which shows a whole load of coding which means nothing to me but might to the gurus.

Hope this helps but it may just confuse matters.

Sorry Lori.....I just saw your post. The problem seems to be solely with the forum part of the LC site, everywhere else works like clockwork. There is some slowness generally, that can usually be sorted out if I refresh, but trying to post in the larger threads, the Darnies for example, is virtually impossible.  I noticed that another FM...Maggie P is experiencing much the same thing. I don't know why this is happening, because most other FMs don't seem to be having this problem, which has lasted for quite some time now. Sorry to be such a nuisance, but it tends to spoil my enjoyment of the forum part of an otherwise  good site.x

Hi, Kaytee:

You aren't a nuisance!
So, I just posted in the Darnies thread to see if it was slow, and it was just a touch slow, but it's almost 2400 pages, so that's not unexpected.  However, you should STILL be able to post.
So, you have trouble in the big forum threads, and you've used 3 different browsers, and you are on a PC, huh?  You said you have a varying experience with those 3:  can you rank them, worst to best?  Also, do you know what Maggie P is using for a browser?
Lori
Hi Lorix
The worst is IE then Chrome and the best is FF...for everything on the PC.
I managed to get into the darnies to ask about Marge, but it took 10 mins....and a lot of button bashing(lol)...after that it just wouldn't let me in again. The rest of LC has been very slow, but I have been able to post. I'll try and contact Maggie and ask her what she's using and get back to youx

Kaytee: I think we should try to eliminate some suspects.

1. Your computer: Have you tried posting on another computer? Try logging into a friend's computer, and see if you have the same experience.

2. Your connection: Try posting on another connection. E.g. go someplace else and try posting. I'm not sure what you have for a service, but try not to pick something slower than your connection (like dialup. )

No one else has mentioned this so it must be just me. Last night my time I couldn't read any of the threads, I clicked on every thread and they all had a very long error code. Earlier this afternoon I could read the threads so assumed there was a problem with the site malfunctioning last night. I came back here about 20 mins ago (it's evening now) and all the threads were showing the last time of posting as being this morning - even though I'd earlier read the afternoon ones.

Then I noticed I wasn't logged in and wondered if that made a difference for whatever unknown or new reason so signed in and now can see that all the threads are up to date timewise. I've never had this particular problem before, just wondered if you were aware of it or someone else has mentioned it to you, seems strange if it's just my pc all of a sudden.

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain properly what I meant.
When you visit this site, whether you are logged in or not, you will always see the most up to date posts. The only difference in what you see will be the displayed time.
If you are logged in you will see your own time zone timing on all the posts, but if you are not logged in the time displayed on the very same posts will be the relative time zone of Seattle, which is eight hours behind GMT.

Edit: I posted this post at 00:38 GMT (4th March), but if I were not logged in this very same post would be displaying the time as 4:38pm (3rd March - Seattle time)
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing
Hi Fluffy, you probably know more about the workings of this site than me. I've just never noticed before that the times of the latest posts relate to if we're logged in or not. I've just assumed that what's posted is the latest addition regardless of the time zones just as I experience in other Forums where there are different time zones to where I live.
Yellow Rose
Yellow Rose, I can confirm that Fluffy's postings are exactly what I have found. Is it possible that you had recently ckeared your browser cache including cookies? If you had then when you revisited this forum it would default as if you were not logged in so would show the Seattle times. Once you logged in then it would show your set times.
