There doesn't seem to be any restriction in the rules relating to teams entering. I seem to remember a previous series where one of the pairs had been in on before when ther teams had three people rather than two.
what we don't get to see are the auditions which were held last September. Entrants chosen for the auditions have to bring two patisserie items, one of their choosing and one set by the audition judges. The production team decides which teams go to the final 12.

Bumping for tonight
Some unusual challenges. First to produce 24 perfect and identical layered vegetable cake slices and tomato shaped desserts. Then make baskets from 160 choux buns with the baskets filled with things you might find on an allotment but made out of sugar. Expect some messy disasters.
