Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor, is on BBC One at 7pm on 4 August.
According to the official announcement, Ball "will unveil the 12th Doctor in the first ever interview in front of a live studio audience set against the backdrop of a swirling vortex, amongst Daleks and the Tardis".

My totally random guess as to who it might be is Colin Morgan (Merlin) as he would be a popular choice and John Hurt could have made the suggestion to the producers.

(A) I'm really pleased that the current doctor is leaving, never liked him and I find it hard amongst my friends and the DR Who-ophiles to find anyone who really took to him.
(B) They need to up the quality of the stories.
But I'm looking forward to seeing what happens as I've always liked the idea of the timelord.

Oh I agree, I still miss him. I have put up with this new Dr, I have tried to like him but it's just not the same. Probably my favourite ever, with Tom Baker next.
