I haven't had much time for nails over the past few days...   plus until I have the cash to get some acetone & some white polish (Ickle took both those to London with her), and some more top coat (running v short - am having to tip the bottle to get enough on the brush), my nails are either nekkid or normal.

in the meantime..    some nail porn for you all...

these pages take you to a couple of pages of thumbnails of designs from a blogger..     easy one page full of design inspirations (lots of printing)

They're still on since....whatever day I posted that pic?  I repolished the other nails though coz that paint was ugly.  They look a lot better when the other nails are plain purple.  They were really easy to put on as long as the nails are completely dry first then do the top coat and studs.

The ones I have are flat studs to they don't feel too bumpy.

I've started using one of those Tom Pellereau S Files, BRILLIANT, couldn't really see the point of it before I tried, (they were on offer in Sainsburys,) as I thought that I was perfectly capable of shaping my nails with a normal emery board after 40 years of practice, but it's great for a perfect 'professional' shape, highly recommended.

I don't do the nail art stuff Summer, wouldn't know where to begin, or have the patience, takes me all of my time to do a base coat, two layers of polish and a wet shine topcoat without doing something or other to smudge them so I often just use Barbara Daly's goodbye yellow for everyday to make them look nice and 'clean.' However, I was on holiday so made a bit more effort and used the S file, cuticle oil etc. and loads of people commented on how lovely my nails looked, only down side was I couldn't convince most that they were my own/that I hadn't had a professional manicure!

Is this for discoloured nails due to prolonged use of coloured nail polish. I simply cannot go without wearing nail polish as my nails have become really discoloured. Does anyone have any tips?

Vicious circle Soozy, if you don't give your nails a rest from polish then they will likely become discoloured, but I can't do that other than for v brief periods because if I don't at least wear a clear varnish then they split and break. The 'goodbye yellow' (Barbara Daly from Tesco,) is great because it's quick, easy and makes your nails look healthier and a bit like you've had a french polish and whilst it doesn't actually cure the problem it's better than wearing coloured polish which can make matters worse. Other than that, I'd say try soaking your nails in lemon juice, buff and always wear a base coat before applying coloured polish. I've also read that soaking your nails in Steradent can work, but have never tried it, if you do please let me know how you get on!

Ahhhh EC those give me the creeps!!  I hate the feeling of a 'bald' nail.  It's like finger nails on a chalk board to me *shudders*

I broke a nail on Saturday night (First world problems, I know!) but it has that bald feel to it and I've had to cover it with a plaster coz it gives me the heeby geebies.

ION....I have decided all that glitter, tape, studs etc is just too much like hard work and gone back to plain paint on my nails and a transfer on the thumb and ring finger nails which usually looks nice enough.  As sad as it sounds I am now in the process of finding the perfect colour for my holidays which isn't until 6 weeks time but I really do feel naked without having my nails done properly!

I've often wondered why they were so special - you've just convinced me to add one to my weekly shop!
