I don't dislike cats. I just don't like the idea that they might clamber all over my worktops etc.
I think I might be morphing into Brisket.

That's what I don't like about them too, and the 'gifts' they sometimes like to bring their people. 

I've never had a cat that clambered on my worktops - they have always known their food is at ground level. I wouldn't like that either Yogi -it's just basic hygiene, sin't it?

Yes, that too, Cinds. I had a neighbour, many years ago, who had five or six cats and one of her cats used to leave "presents" on my doorstep.

I must be honest, I didn't realise you could teach cats to stay off the worktops.

Nope despite my name I'm not a cat person.I chase the boogers from my garden.I like small furries/feathers.. ooer.

When my sons were young, they had gerbils and white mice. I quite liked them.

My brother's children had a hamster but it played havoc when it went for an excursion in the cavity wall.

Ditto.... and, much as I loved them,  mine weren't allowed upstairs on the beds either.

Perhaps I've just been lucky or it may be my cats took the time and trouble to read the house rules.

LOL.... my son's went walkabouts like that one day, got under the floorboards, never to be seen again...... Talk about a commotion.
