Anyone else used to listen to Robbie Vincent on Radio London Saturday lunchtimes? He also used to be resident Dj at what was then Flicks in Dartford where I got to see Maze several times
Yes! And..........YES! Fancy seeing you here, Croc. And do you remember Steve Walsh as well? Remember his version of this:
And some more of my faves:

LOL Croc, I remember DLT doing a 'misheard lyrics' thing on his radio show. I'll never forget someone phoning/writing in and saying when they heard the Blondie version they though it was 'Beneath the knees'

Dont know where you live PB but did you do the London clubs like Ministry or Astoria? x
No Karma, I'm from just outside Birmingham and my big regret is that I didn't get to do the London clubs like Ministry or Astoria. Mostly for me it was Faces at Five Ways, Peppermint Place also at Five Ways, both have gone now, Millionaire's in the City Centre and the Dome when that opened in '85. In fact all the club's I mentioned here have all gone now, shame really as they were good back in the day. Used to go to the Nightingale as well occasionallyMillionaire's used to stay open until 4am on the Super Prix weekends when we had them in the '80's and it used to be great coming out of there, head buzzing and seeing it was almost daylight!!

Always loved a bit of Rose Royce, so I thought I would present "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" (1978).
Gwen Dickey. She's still gigging now - sometimes with The Souled Out Band.Still got that gorgeous voice and still looks the same now!

Here is a bit of a change of pace from me.
One song which I can not listen to when anyone is around is Roberta Flack - First Time Ever I saw Your Face.
It's not pretty seeing a grown man cry - this song has me welling up without fail.
BTW, could not listen to it, just upped the link..

And He died sometime in the mid to late 80's I think.
I used to love Emporer Rosko; his NYE shows were beyond fabulous. Saw him at Bromley Tech and also at the Radio One Club (showing my age!) - I won't say who the live band were or I'll pre date Noah and his ark! Let's just say they let kids in if accompanied by an adult........
Anyone remember this one? I loved it back in the day ~ wonder what happened to him?

Yeah I just checked...he died in 1988....
I started going to Flicks when it first opened which was in March/April 1979....just before I left school...we used to go 3/4 nights a week when we weren't up the Old Kent Road.
We may have known each other!

I "LIVED" in the Old Kent Road at weekends. Always started off in the 'Beckett and then used to dip into the Frog & Nightgown, The Dun Cow (it's a doctor's surgery now!) and the Green Man. A mate had the Prince of Wales just off of the main drag - and I did a few shifts behind the bar in the Henry Cooper for while.Big small world, innit?

We used to mainly go to the Kentish Drovers...I remember trying to 'steal' a car from the drive though MacDonalds...as the bloke got out the drivers side in jumped in the passenger door abd started the engine...but then in my drunken stupour remembered i couldn't drive...the bloke saw the funny side though.
