I'd never heard this song before in my life, but I found it tonight whilst searching for Aztec Camera and Mick Jones doing Good Morning Britain (this is the B side).

I've just listened to it 3 times in a row, it's just gorgeous.  Edwyn Collins and Roddy Frame.

YO! Scotty! I've just been catching up on this thread. The Bonamassa one is brilliant  Twas my bruv that put me on to him  There's not many 'bluesy' peeps I can get away with but what a hell of a guitarist this guy is!

He is that Pam. I`m the same as you, not too many blues guitarist appeal to me either but he certainly does. He`s fantastic! It was my son who put me on to him. He went to see him in Glasgow last Monday. He text me from the gig.  " Mum, I`m watching a genius at work here." He caught Joe as he was getting back on his tour bus and got some photos taken with him and a signature on the programme. He was chuffed to bits.  Yep, a great guitarist.

That's a great song Bateman.  I spent an afternoon at the Metrocentre singing it at the staff of various music outlets trying to identify it.  What's more bizarre is someone actually recognised it from my singing
