Wud have to say they were good at the beginning but went pear shaped!  Commercialism!

My daughter went to Exeter Uni. Exeter is a fab uni BUT a lot of spoilt rich kids go there ( not mine I hasn't to add).

They are known in uni circles as the "rahs" and they do exist cos my girl used to like to hang out with them and laugh because they truly are on another planet. 

Thom Yorke's song is all about how he did not fit in ( hence the word Creep) with these Rahs.


Oh and as an aside - JK Rowling went there and was rumoured to have had an affair with the head of classics which is who Snape is based on.
How do I know this? Well my daughter studied classics and he was her personal tutor.. 

Ooooohhhh I LOVE music goss! I have wondered what inspired him to write Creep. I didn't bother to research right enough but just assumed it was about a girl he was lusting after. Interesting that it's not that at all.

For me it was the opposite that turned me off them. Kid A was just painfully pretentious. No saving graces to that horrible mess at all. I hated it so much it turned me off them for years.

Pretentiousness seems the order of the day these days Prom....found they just played for the money instead of the music after a while!

I'm the opposite, I think of a tune and then think of the production. I went through years of writing lyrics, but I don't have the creativity to write songs like others do, even though I can read and write  music (as long as it's someone elses, Mozart was a right hoot back in the day )

Very true but of all bands to take that route Radiohead would have been my very last guess. They seem to have got back on track now though 

Karms I'm jellus. I never learned to read music I have to keep it all in my head. It's a great talent. 

Oooh ta! I've never looked at it like a talent cos I was around other kids who were doing the same as me at the time, it's stayed with me over the years. I still google sheet music of different songs to see which key it was in and see if I can still sight read (cos I'm nerdy like that!) and am teaching myself how to play the guitar again cos it's been far too long. I just love, love, love it.

You're nerdy about music the way I am about computers . It's effin brilliant that you're playing guitar again. I wonder if I could even still play my own songs if someone handed me a guitar now. I'm tempted to get one and find out
