Prom - re your Beatles 'Come & Get it'.........My encyclopedia of rock stars says it hit number 4 in the UK on Jan 31 1970 and US number 7 the same year by Badfinger. I can't find any mention of it in the same book under The Beatles. No mention of it in the Virgin book of official British hit singles either. I'll keep trying though

I started to watch it but the heartbreaking bit of the old man crying for his dead wife finished me off.
And now a couple from some bus driver from North London....

great tunes though
Oops forgot this one...
onetoo, thanks for looking but as far as I know Come And Get It was never a Beatles song, Paul McCartney wrote it when he was with Wings. Whoever put it up on youtube as The Beatles must have just made a mistake. I don't think it was ever a single either, just a Wings album track, but I could be wrong about that.

It turns out I'm completely wrong Paul McCartney wrote it and sang and played all the instruments himself when he turned up early for an Abbey Road session. It was used as an opening song for the film Magic Christian and released as a Beatles song and was a big hit despite the fact Paul was the only Beatle who performed on it.You learn summat new every day, eh?
