Do any of you like this song?
I came across it quite a few years ago and it has stuck with me ever since.
Although I have never seen the video, if the translation is literal, it's not the most tasteful of subjects.
Anyway here is VAST - Pretty When You Cry.

Oh Soozy, I remember at the time that really got to me, and I knew the song for a while before that

Have a look a bit further....I'm guessing you may find some Dana
Hey, if you mean Dana - All Kinds of Everything, I used to think she was quite attractive. Can't remember buying any of her singles though

Surely this has to be the most unforgettable song of the eighties?
It's a good song but this is a far better one from the same band (for me anyway).

It was the bass line which hooked me and the way the song builds. Not always a fan of music with profanity as you can't play it in public, but I do enjoy walking along with it on my iPod.Reference:

I haven't heard it before but I really like it. I just bookmarked it. Listening to it, it could be JJ singing to Josie Thanks for posting it

Surely this has to be the most unforgettable song of the eighties? I can't find the Live aid video that accompanied it but I'm sure it was this that accounted for a lo tt of the donations to Live Aid. Heartbreaking,
TBH Soozy, glad you didn't, as I still remember the video that accompanied it on Live Aid 25 years on, I'm not ashamed to say that I cried my eyes out that day seeing those poor, poor babies and children. A beautiful song and I agree one of the most unforgettable songs of the decade, sadly for what it reminds people of.Reference:

I love it when I introduce music to people and they like it. I don't know any of their other songs, just this one. Funny how that happens. Like the BB reference.
My favourite Cure song.
This is probably a bit predictable but it's my favourite song from one of my all time favourite bands.
I am coming more up to date with my next choice. Just to show another slight angle to my taste. When I first heard Goldfrapp's Pilots I could not help but think of a film, something along the lines of a Bond movie. The song is quite cinematic. The video has a very retro-futuristic feel to it.
strangely, I quite like Alison Goldfrapp. I wish she was my sister.
Hope you all enjoy.

Cosmo! I love, love, love that Clapton track! and no, it has no 'undertones' for me
London Calling, how could we forget it? I didn't really like the Clash but they had some fantastic songs. One of those 'don't buy the album' bands. Good call Cosmo
Okay it's Perfect Pop Song time again.
Some from the '90's and the noughties from me
Whatever happened to Elvis Costello?

Still making music, but I think more involved in song writing now. Does any one know if he is still married to Diana Krall?
I'm really a soul/funk gal at heart and yet one of my favourite bands is The Faces/Small Faces. And I love Cole Porter and Hoagy Carmichael. I love trad jazz.
I'm a ball of confusion (another great track by the best 'boy band' evahhhhhhhhh).

A great song, but I always had a soft spot for Windpower. Just bought his reissue albums.
Still bloody brilliant after all these years..

Dunno but I love that track and I love loads and loads of his songs I just can't stand his voice. Him and Billy Bragg are the reason cover versions were invented Reference:

He's still with Diana.
There was a great show on Sky Arts not so long ago which he fronted.
They had one guest (I watched the Smokey Robinson episode), in front of a live audience and Elvis compared and interviewed. He was bluddy good at it too (well researched etc).
And then he'd join the artist and sing a favourtie track.
Can't recall the title of the series though!

Couldn't possibly go to bed without leaving you with this gem! You know you love it
OK.
Possibly my last post of the evening.
Rotary Connection - I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun.
A great song and I think it features Minnie Ripperton. Anyways, for the impatient, skip the first 30 seconds intro and the song kicks in just after.
Brilliant song covered by Nu Yorican Soul.

I take it you are very familiar with RC's IATBGOTS.
Yes, I have Runaway. I rate Nu Yorican Soul.
