I dont believe in docking just to fit in with a breed but if it is causing the dog pain etc it is best to have it done he will be much happier and not be in pain

That's what I'm hoping, but the vet says that because he's such a happy and, ahem, 'stupid' dog, it might be better to take more off than is necessary to prevent it happening again. Wilf is one of those dogs who doesn't seem to feel pain. He ate 4kg of food the other week which was so much it would have burst his gut if we hadn't got him to the vet quickly. He was still recovering from major surgery on his gut after swallowing a pillowcase. You'd think that once you got so full your gut felt like it was going to burst you'd stop eating wouldn't you, but not our Wilfy, he just kept on going.
I think I'm in love for the puppy.
