Fingers crossed Pengy.  To be fair he's won his last 4 races, including Chester a couple of weeks ago. His usual rider was taken poorly this morning so they had a stand in jockey which won't have helped. I'm still not ringing my mum and dad though, they'll not be in a great mood.

That was a surprise and commiserations are in order! I expected it to be placed on that form. But the favourite had better Chester Vase form, narrowly being beaten by the horse which finished second in the Derby. I'm surprised that people could still get 3/1 and 11/4 about it. According to my paper Glen's D has improved every time it has has a new challenge but maybe this was a step too far.

I'm not sure what happened either Joe. Like I said, I don't think the change in jockey would have helped but Fahey hasn't had a good week all round aparently. My stepdad was worried that the horses may have a virus and be feeling under the weather. That said I think most people still felt he would place. I'm sure I'll get a full drunken report later.

I stayed away from telling my dad to put a couple of quid on your horse queenie..   on account of ANY horse I pick is guaranteed to lose!

Last week (Derby I think)..  my dad pushed the runners under my nose & told me to pick one..   I hesitated over "pour moi".... nearly picked it, but then misread "recital" as "rectal"... so went for Recital.

Pour Moi won!

I've told him in future..     I will pick all but three horses..   thems are the three he should back in each race

I'm the same, couldn't pick a winner in a field of one!   I swear, everytime I actually put money on one of mum's horses it loses. Don't tell her that though.

next time it runs...   but a quid on all the other runners...

then you will either win...    or your mum's horse will win...    happy ending whatever the outcome

or you for introducing my daughter to that site!

(I sent her one for her 18th in March...  sent it down to her school..   she said it was dead cool when it arrived..   in a box... with all dry ice floating around in it)

They finally ate it in January. I sent it in July.  She did concede that it was probably the best cheesecake they'd ever had though. This year he's getting a tie and she's getting flowers. I've given up trying to please them.

Glad your daughter enjoyed it anyway. I still think it's a cool present.
