 absolutely lovely Pirate

Moonie

read the whole thing to sis

theres a lot more to it

she approved

she said it was lovely

i havent cried or ate today

cos ma died within 24hours of being in hospital

it has to go to coroners

but bro-in-law said she'd been in hospital a few days earlier

so this should speed it up-no coroners-the thought of somer stranger cutting my mom kills me

im truley ****ed up at the moment

Pirate! SuperHugs for you! Lovely poem for your mum and so glad to hear your sis is ok with you at this terrible time. Try not to think about the other thing... impossible I know, but concentrate on remembering happy times if you can.

Xochi

Pirate, take it steady and try to remember that a coroner will ask pertinent questions of the doctors who last - or recently - treated your mum.  It may just be a simple inquiry and nothing more.

Please eat something too.

That poem is just what she would have wanted as a testament. You express what your beloved Mum meant to you and everyone, so well

Try to get some sleep if you can Pirate, Goodnight mate

Organizing a funeral isn't easy, but i guess not getting the chance is harder.

Do you feel you could stay calm in asking her to be involved? The last thing either of you need is to fight with each other. maybe give in on the burial etc but ask to be part of the service? ie read your poem or have your poem read out? You dont want to end up resenting her or regretting not speaking up..... but only if you feel you can keep it civil (even if she doesn't)

If you let her have her head on this one (and I've got to say that it's commendable that you're not making waves), then it's only fair that you and your bro have a say in another way.

I think it'd be fair dibs if you and bro decide on the headstone or whatever memorial you've in mind for her.

Cosmopolitan

Pirate, it is to your credit that you don't want to make waves at this time.

If your sis won't include your poem in the service, you can always go to your mum's graveside and read it, as a personal tribute to her.

Its absolutely awful Pirate   I feel very, very sorry for you xx

A funeral service is an important part of the grieving process. Ask her politely again, to at least have your poem read out? She has no right to dictate what the entire service should be and to exclude you and your brother. Your sister sounds like a total control freak!

We're on your side mate

FM

Pirate, my heart goes out to you, it really does
There are always those who nearly trip over themselves to be chief mourners. Do what YOU feel is right in your heart, Pirate. Peace there, is more important, i think. I have been there ...Take care xx

Skylark's got the best advice there Pirate.   You're doing well not making waves too  - bet your Mum's proud of you.    Then again, I'm a believer that the last resting place really isn't important - I don't need to go to a certain place to think about my Mum - I think about her all the time and I believe she knows that.

I echo what Skylark and Kaffy have said.
