Hope you're feeling brighter today Comrade.
I love the "heart" of this forum. There's always someone around to cheer you up, give you advice, or just be "with" you.
Hope we don't lose too many of you when we move to LiveCloud.

Not really tbh but thanks again.
Funny I've told the folks on here more than I've told my RL closest friends.
Comrade - i know our words can only do and mean so much - but they are genuinely meant
If i could sort your life for you i wud without a seconds thought
Do you want to tell us about it?
Might just be the best thing you ever did - and wot do you have to lose
You are not alone

It's a truly horrible place to be but hang in there it will get better.
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest! if you must but don't you quit.
Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow;
You might succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit;
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
How very fitting Lee.
Just wanted to add: no need to feel guilty about feeling down sometimes. Feeling bad is natural at certain times in our lives, and gives us the motivation to make changes.

Reading through this thread again reminds me how much support this forum gives people.
I can't work at the moment, due to an ongoing medical condition and am on my own in the house a lot, because when things get really bad, I can't leave the house, my husband works full time and often quite late into the evening, and without this forum, I would basically be slumped in front of the telly or reading and probably feeling more miserable.
I try not to feel sorry for myself, but it's hard at times, the condition I have, to do with balance will only get worse and I have been told there may come a time when I will go completely deaf and not even be able to drive any more, which is my independence, at least on good days, I can get out in my car.
Then I found this forum again, I used to be on the old C4 one, back in about 2007 and even though it took time for me to feel like one of you, because a lot of the people I knew in the LUT had gone or renamed, I now do feel like a proper FM.
You have helped me all so much this summer, with a broken wrist, swine flu and the worsening of my ears. I have laughed with you, cried with you and felt like one of a really special club of people.
Thank you for that, and even though I have had great concerns about LiveCloud and the fact that it at the moment seems to be splitting FM's off in different directions, I'm sure once the forums are over there it will be fine, so I'm sticking to you lovely lot and DS when I fancy an argument!!
You are all stars, some of you (you know who), especially
Sorry to high jack the thread and I really hope Comrade is ok, but I just wanted to say that.
Pinkbabe CO
I love what you said about being in a club of very special people, that is exactly how I see it...I was very down last year, lost alot of weight, panic attacks and generally walked round in a daze for months...I can honestly say without the forum and all the support i got (even though I never actually went into great detail), really helped.
I'd come into the forum and people would actually ask how I was??? It meant the world to me, it really did....just to know that people care...such a special feeling....
Just being on here and reading the threads and occupying my mind was the best medicine I could've had...I was so low, then, one day i actually found myself laughing so loud at something someone had wrote....this place & the people here are simply amazing!
Comrade - please understand you are not forgotten
CO, I do hope you are feeling better, we are all here for you as Renton said
to save me from reading through the thread-could someone tell me whats happened please?
thanks
thanks

sorry to hijack this thread, but it saves another thread and lots of peeps are here/visiting,
i have been treated for a medical condition for nearly 10 years, with various medicines to stabilise it, i was told yeaterday that they now think its pschological rather than physical and the doctor thought this in 2002 but never followed it up. the drugs i take/have taken are very dangerous and first i was relieved i don't have the condition but then i felt so angry that it's taken this long to find out

they now say i was traumatised during childhood (birth - 11 years) and my brain has suppressed this, a violent attack during the 90's "awakened" this (although it took 4 years to "awaken"), i must revisit my childhood to heal myself!

I have no idea how I would cope with such a scenario - especially after so many years of being treated incorrectly.
I hope you manage to find the strength to cope and to do what's right for you, machel.

Sorry i missed this ,but better late than never.Hope you are ok CO
thanks everyone
although i want my seizures to stop i know how to cope with them and i must admit i am frightened of unearthing the trauma which was so bad my brain suppressed it, i think i had a normal, happy childhood but now i find myself questioning that, because i can't remember it involves asking other members of my family and they are getting upset as well.

I guess you have a big decision to make there.
Personally I don't go in for too much 'navel gazing' as my dad would call it, as
sometimes it's easier to leave stuff behind and move on. Also, if I thought that I'd
had an ok childhood I wouldn't go looking to rock the boat - what's done is done and
no amount of digging will change the outcome. Well, that's my basic kind of view anyway.
I think you'll have to ask yourself whether you've got the stamina to go back into it all
or if it's more suitable - and easier - for you to cope and manage with your situation
in the best way you know how.
Rotten dilemma and I wish you all the best whatever you do. xx
Sink or swim................
That's what I have been telling myself for years.........
Swimming so far........ but the urge to sink is coming on...........

Last October I put up a similar post on GBBF and was amazed and touched by all of the help and just support I got from everyone. It's been like that in this thread too.
CO Things do get better, they may do so slowly but they do and I hope that you can get past what it is that is making you feel so wretched. Just hearing others experiences also help you to assess what your own problems are and whether or not to take the advice offered on here.
There are a lot of things that get said on these forums which are not nice, lots of fighting and envy and goading but in the main most of the people on here are the genuine article and yes we don't know each other (most of us generally) in real life but we all have our strengths, weakness and vulnerabilities.
Just being able to post these things up on here means you have a wide network of people who genuinely care, bascially because of the things we have all experienced.
I hope you are feeling better CO, I have always enjoyed your posts on here so come and see us soon and let us know how you are.
