I wonder what our friends in the States would make of our saucy holiday postcards? Rather like the Carry On films and the early Charlie Chaplin films before he became serious, they are have a very British sense of humour and are part of our heritage.
Nowadays, with the "political correctness" brigade in full control, it would be likely that a council would require such postcards to be removed from public display in case anyone was offended.

Hardly! The only occurence I remember is twenty years ago at my mainly male workplace. It was decreed from on high that any office, corridor, or control room should have all questionable postcards, particularly the ones from SE Asia, so called girly pics, and graphic calenders removed, this also included postcards of the type mentioned above. Where else would you draw the line?
