My eldest daughter is off to Nottingham Uni on friday, it's taken ages for me to get my head sorted, god knows how many shopping lists I've done!

She's going to be staying in the halls yes, Peverell I think it's called. Its really exciting and I'm really excited for her. She's got enough food to last her a year, I'm scared she might starve!
Another of life's chapters full of worry, excitement and lots of joy at holiday times.
It's a truly scary time for parents. My two youngest went off to Uni in the same year leaving an empty nest ............i have to say - it was the making of them. They had the time of their lives - got good degrees at then end of it (surprisingly after all the mad partying) and now both have very good jobs and are happy in their lives.
I think it must have been a whole lot harder before mobile phones. I used to speak to my kids every day (still do). It's hard but .................life goes on.

She has had a great time and is now sharing a house with five others. She even went back early this year and has a part time job in M&S.

My eldest went yesterday and I miss her terribly.I'd got used to having her sound the last four months..and even tho I have her younger siblings here,I still feel really lost without her.
I know she'll have a great time and she'll be back before long,but I can't help feeling a bit sad
