My fave Christmas film is Polar Express .............................I'm talking through new eyes as I've loved watching it with my grandson ..........prior to that with my own kids I loved watching The Snowman (i watch that too with my grandson) .......i will not allow a Christmas film on my DVD until the first week in December though.

The Great Escapes got to be there too, Steve McQueen and that bloody motorbike...I'm shouting noooooo there's barbed wire

And Omar Shariff in Dr Zhivago ........................FGS ....Lara was banging on the window trying to attract your attention!

Hi Dame Ann,won't let me quote, but it was because of the Bone Collecter,i became hooked on the Jeffrey Deaver books, especially the one's featuring Lincoln Rythmes Maggie xx

Read them all Maggie, in fact I've got the new paperback next to me now The Broken Window. I've one of Patricia Cornwell's to finish and then this next and can't wait

Poor Omar,i have been known to sit at the end of films sobbing and saying out loud,"it's not fair".i love crying at films actually it always feels like a healthy cry,if you know what i mean
I know exactly what you mean but .................I fight the tears back and just wont let it go (not healthy really) I remember watching Old Yeller and tarus Bulba as a kid and so wanting to cry (my sister sobbed and sobbed) I was always known to be as hard as nails (I'm not really - it's something that's stuck) My husband cries like a baby however.

Just go for it,cos it's a nice cry, better than the crying we do out of personal sadness, and all the atrocities in the news, that kind of crying is awful and draining
