Losing weight is the hardest thing you can do - because you can't cheat yourself! You can "forget" to count stuff, or you can underestimate, but at the end of the day you can't kid your body.....and nobody can do it for you.
I was a Slimming Magazine Group Leader for a few years ... and my abiding lesson was that its more to do with psychology than appetite.
Renton - it sounds like your head is in the right place..... more power to you!

Give yourself a couple of night a week treats and the rest of the time eat/drink sensible when you've reached your target...that's how I'm doing it and it seems to be working fine, so far, touch wood and crosses everything
I eat well through the week, and have weekends for yummy breakfasts and choc etc Those couple of kilos seem to always sneak back on I'm going to the gym atm to shift them, I usually diet too, but decided not to this time, as it would just go straight back on when I eat normally again, even with the exercise I've lost 2kg (about 4lbs?) so far Reference:

Brilliant Saz, I tend to stick to salads and veggie meals through the week. Thursdays I go out and drink , Saturday dinner I always have a steak and trimmings and a drink Saturday nights. I gain a couple of pounds, but a couple of days later I'm back to my original weight and managed that since Christmas. Hope all works out for you, or maybe I should say the workout works well

Renton, was wondering how the diet is going? Noticed that you have signed in recently, but not posted, so..... how's the diet going, are you a serious shadow of your former self?
Thanks for rescuing the thread Super.
It would be nice to hear how things are with you Renton.
Please stay in touch.

Brisket, I was a yoyo dieter for years: lose a stone put on 2, lose 2 put on 3...I stopped at 4! All of the comments about Josie's weight made me think of Renton
Super, I have no experience of dieting, as you have.
While I want Renton to achieve something which pleases him and helps him to feel better, you will be able to empathise more than I ever could.
I do wish him well.
Let's hope he'll see his thread and tell us how he is.
