Anyone watching this? Just switched it on and my goodness that wedding dress. The dressmakers just said some dresses can weigh 27 stone and scar and blister the girls hips.

That first dress made Jordan/Katie's dress look small!
In some ways they have got some good idea regarding family, though 16 is wayyyyyy too young to get married

Just a bit! The lifestyle is really interesting isn't it? They seem a very close knit community... though I should probably know about it a bit more... we have Romany Gypsies in the family

Did you see the other thing on telly that showed a gypsy wedding then Saz? it was some time ago.... the girl had the carraige that Jordan had... and a dress with that many hoops & Petticoats she couldn't get through the door.Oh... and a large large crown
OH.MY.GOD. That woman just before the ad break All you had to do was spray the thing yellow and she'd be this:
They are very showy aren't they!! I think they look ridciulous, less is definately more. They dress the little girls up like dolls, vile!

Gonna +1 it and watch it then. Seen quite a few travellers weddings in Ireland and boy do they love their big dresses and bling
I'm actually enjoying this and hoping that things go well for the girls.
The dresses are over the top definitely, saw something like this on a programme on Sky once.

They all seem to have themed weddings too, bright colours, hearts, butterflies!
This actually reminds me of a Indian wedding in a way with all the colour, bling and expense. I think it's nice, wouldn't suit me, but good luck to them.
Oh Jesus would ya cop a load of that lot.

The brides look beautiful at Indian Weddings though! That woman looks like an albino Big Bird!
a lot of the girls are really really pretty.... but the men... aren't!
She looks really happy...LOL
Awww got a tear in my eye then.
Its a bit sad when a culture sets a girls expectations ONLY on getting married and having kids
oh bless... the maternity wear ain't up to much!
It's almost like an arranged marriage :\
They love their revealing clothes too, don't they?

yeah.... but then its their culture... and its such an... undiluted culture... as I said, I am fascinated by it.I suppose them that want more... leave the family and the traditional way they do things.
I live paused earlier btw... I'm up to the dress with the 20ft train now Its taking up the whole aisle!
Karma, I just got to the big bird one
How do you use live pause?? I know how to Sky+ stuff but cant get my head around the live pause thing? (Or is it kinda self explanatory and I'm just a twonk)
They argue loads before they got married?
Karma, you just press pause on the remote and it pauses the program - handy if some one rings Then when you have got rid of them, just press the play button Did you see my question in the one born every minute thread btw?

I missed it hope it will be repeated
I enjoyed learning more about their culture than is generally shown or talked about. Family values seem high on their agenda and interesting to learn that the girls aren't allowed to go to clubs and drink or smoke, maybe some do but it didn't sound like it was the general way of life for girls.
The woman who makes bridewear for the travellers had amazing skills to be able to work with sooooo much material. Good programme.

Sorry matey I felt shite earlier so went off to bed, have woken up feeling more shite
Cheers for the live pause advice, I did it by accident a couple of days ago and started panicking, screamed, switched the whole lot off, stared at it for a bit and then switched it back on.
I shall have a look at the baby thread now. Oh and what area code is 0191 703 btw? Any ideas?
0191 is newcastle i think.
Ta mate xx
Anyway back to the chav weddings and the like...
The image of the woman with the 60ft wide meringue and the feathers is embedded into my brain for some reason, not to mention the bridesmaids dresses that looked like a failed paper mache attempt by a 6 year old.
Those of you who are married, did you have an idea of exactly what you wanted on your day? And did you get it?
